Hi
I'm after some advice if anyone can help me please.
I have a parquet floor which is loose in certain places but I want to put a carpet over it but you can hear and feel the loose blocks under the carpet.
So should I put plywood over the parquet or should I put a flexible self levelling compound over the parquet if so which 1 would be best to use.
If anyone could advise me I would appreciate it
Many thanks
Dave

Have the parquet repaired, sanded and sorted. Why cover a beautiful floor?

my thoughts as well why cover something as beautiful as a parquet floor agree with above post. if you self level
compound over it that will be the end no turning back what a waste in my opinion good luck what ever you do

If you have the time and can source hire machines you could do it yourself.

Thanks all but it's defo getting covered but I think I have decided to put 9mm plywood over it instead. I took a load up from the dining room and couldn't give it away ended up throwing it in the skip, I've got a lot of it in the hall which I might have sanded but thanks again

If you intend Tiling it then BS dictates you put at least 15mm ply down and it needs to screwed at 150mm centres to comply.
