Title: airflex turbo - solution tank getting dirty quickly
Post by: Adam P on November 28, 2015, 07:49:49 pm
this week my solution tank has become dirty with a mushy substance floating in the water, eventually clogging the intake filter. i can't seem to find the source so thought you guys might have some ideas.

i very very rarely use an alkiline in the tank, though about 1.5 weeks ago i used some prochem double clean as the carpets were just disgusting. i typically have a acid rinse in the tank, and thought perhaps over time the pump and the pipe have a layer on dirt on them which the alkaline has loosened? though the pipes don't seem like they have much dirt in them.

if this could be it, what would be a good way to clean out the pump and pipes?

if not this, any other suggestions?

i only ever use one bucket for filling the tank, which is always rinsed before each use.

At a guess I would say it must be a build up of crud, did you buy machine new?

do you ever descale your machine and pipes, are you in a hard water area? all could contribute towards build up of dirt
in your tank we always fill machine up then add detergent to very hot water to easier dissolve powder.

how do i descale? I very often use an acid rinse, figured this descaled it as it goes?

i've also got a magma heater. is that worth descaling too then, even again if it's only used with an acid rinse?

Before you do anything I would give Matt or mark a call, they are very helpful

Is the machine in daily use?

It sounds like what I get in my bowser when it's been sat awhile with water in it, a scummy Algae growing on the water.

Scale would'nt cause what you describe .

almost daily use yes but there are some rare occasions where it's not used for 3/4 days, which i guess thinking about it, happened recently.
