Title: WFP & Sea Spray/Salt - Any Advice?
Post by: Cookie on November 25, 2015, 06:44:03 pm
I'm cleaning some properties that are right on the coast tomorrow. We have had a few stormy days over the past few weeks and they are covered in salt.  Apart from using a higher flow rate is there anything else I should be doing?

wash and rinse more - especially rinse.

Our windows yesterday were awful, but we just spent a little more time on each window.

Unfortunately they will be a mess the day after and you will wonder why you bothered.

As per Spruce.

I also clean the tops of the frames and rinse them before doing the rest of the glass and frames.

I have been cleaning in a seaside town for 17 years I find no matter how much u rinse on the first clean, it still doesn't come up perfect so I clean the windows when they are bad and I go back and clean them again or I use hot water or dip my brush in my trad bucket to try to degrease the salt that has built up

Not harping on about hot water but it's 1 reason why I went hot I do a few days by the sea,I use a good amount of water like 75 on the digital controller with the brush close to the glass so no splashing or over spray. If working by the sea doesn't convince anyone to go hot nothing will they come up perfect everytime and as for talking about first cleans any regular clean by the sea is like an inland clean that's never been done for years,if I went back after a week certain times of the year they would look like they hadn't been done for years.
