Today my Karcher 48/1 has started to make a load noise as if something has come loose, although it still has suction. I've just sent the supplier an email as its still under warranty. Dose anyone know what could be wrong.
I just mentioned in a post yesterday that I would probably sell it with alloy poles!

Sounds like a motor issue to me. Does that vac come with a filter if so do you use it?
Regarding the warranty best you don't mention what you use it for either as sound like to me from experience the motor is on the way out.

Yes filter is always used. I bought a few filters as they are pretty cheap so I can just bin them when they get too dirty.
To be honest I don't do a lot of gutters so its not been over worked or abused.

To be honest I don't think you have to do many gutter jobs with a one motor vac to knacker it.
Probably the same thing will hapen again if/when it's replaced or repaired under warranty.

I've got a 3000w ordered which will take a few days. I had requested a price from somewhere local but they took a few hours getting back to me and by then I had already ordered something else online. :(

Why do most window cleaners on here say brought instead of bought?

It's on a U boat from Germany. I'll have to put the gutters off till the end of next week, might lose one but I'm not running the vac the way it is. The windows are behind so it'll give me a chance to catch up.

Karcher.... supplier has forwarded an email from Karcher stating that it is out of warranty. I replied saying that I bought the vac from yourselves not Karcher. The advertisement claimed they were an authorized dealer/servicer of karcher. Turns out that they are only on the same street and that their full of poop.
I've taken the machine apart and found a lot of fine dirt inside the casing and also a feather stuck in the motor. The filter used was the black foam type which is for wet use, so on the dry gutters I should have changed the filter. Lesson learned! Put the machine back together and it's not as bad.
With the larger vac's there is a different type of filter (big white thing) dose this stay in for wet and dry use.

German efficiency..... it arrived today. Delivered by Parcel Force which might explain why the DHL tracking number didn't work! Below is the vac I BROUGHT.

I never paid that price! Also came with me UK plug adaptor which they chucked in as well.

The instructions were in English but it says to remove the filter for wet use. Dose anyone have another type of filter with there vac for wet use such as the black mesh filter on smaller vac's.

RIP Karcher motor.
Today whilst working on the shower room I ripped out in March the vacuum motor died!
I will be listing this for sale with a six month warranty!
Just as tools warehouse (ebay) did four or five months ago.
Happy bidding!!

Strip it down again as just might be the motor brushes worn out and should be cheap to replace

I did take the brushes out and examine them.... I then put them back in as I don't know what a worn motor brush looks like! :)
Plenty on them though and the vac completely ground to a halt when attached to a jigsaw. Dry filter in place as well.
I had a mask on and the blades were burning out when cutting cement board so I didn't notice if the vac was burning as well. It was only when I went down two flights of stairs that I noticed I was smelling like Guy Fox!
