Title: hp hose reel?
Post by: Plankton on November 09, 2015, 01:55:56 am
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-HRM200-D-General-Pump-High-Pressure-Hosereel-w-Pigtail-for-200-X-3-8-Hose-/171952722001?hash=item28092e5051:g:DdgAAOSw4HVWCqZa

Is the above reel any good. I've been messing about with 50m of hose and it's starting to get on my tits now.

I was a diligent  hose recircular but must admit to cramming it back in the van recently. In fact there is 50 or 60m in the garage to untangle,i will do  it at first light, The only reason I have never purchased a reel is that  Damien at Q Washers told me once they were prone to leaks but that was many moons ago. Will watch this thread with interest for recommendations.

I've got two of this style - both have 40 meters of 3/8 hose with 20 meters of 5/16 on the end
Ben at Rutland pumps supplied reels and hoses, haven't leaked yet, and saves so much time and energy when packing up.

Be careful of the really cheap ones as the quality is not the same, so may have leaking issues

I use one of these:

Expensive but built to last.

Priced at around £150 on their website with the sale price at £95.
I've been to tight arsed to buy one but at that price and with the 1.5m section it's tempting.

I'd snap them up - just can't remember what they were when I brought mine

If the image shown is of the products they are very old stock.
I was under the impression hat they changed the swivel type 5 or 6 years ago away from that long sweeping elbow - they were plated steel and rusted through and snapped.

You've planted the seed of doubt!

Yes new style feature 90° brass swivel no chrome pipe.

:) He might have uploaded the wrong image so worth checking that :)

£115 is about right for a 45m reel :)

I've fitted the reel to the frame, 50m of hose on the 60m reel. What a difference it'll make when finishing up. Ben was right its the older stock as in the picture, I would imagine it would take a few years to corrode without chemicals going through it surely.
