They can be used on any type of carpet, and woolsafe m/s are available
I personaly, get good results with m/s, and as most will point out aggitation is the key, just try them you have nothing to lose by trying ,

Benny, if you do a search on Microsplitters you will see loads of info on them!
However, you could be at your computer till about November reading it all!

I notice with MS that agitation seems to be the key.
How do you get on with wool berber carpets that fuzz with too much agitation?
-
Any carpet will ' fuzz ' with too much agitation.............there are, however a number of safe machines, which are safe to use, my personal favourite being the Klanz

cheers is the sebo duo a good one :)

I thought you were a Chemdry francisee Bennymon, have you left or are you allowed to use any chemical now?
-
I use one step and I found that less is more!
Spray on using a fine mist then agitate, only do asmall area at a time, enough that itdos`nt dry before scrubbing.Do the whole area like this and do`nt worry about the carpet drying before rinsing as once the M-SP has broken the soil bind that`s it,just rinse with water. The secret is
SMALLER AREA-FINE MIST-AGITATE---------REPEAT----THEN RINSE.[less prespray works best]
Hope this helps

I have asked a couple of times but as yet havent had a reply. Why is it so important to have to agitate? Best, Dave.
-
Dave,
Believe because MS doesn't 'emulsify' the soil on contact. Therefore, mechanical agitation required to ensure MS comes into contact with all of the fibres, thus breaking the bond between soil and fibre, and preparing it for rinse/extract.

Cheers mate, best, Dave.

So ive got a moderately dirty carpet 16m2, consistently dirty everywhere. How long do I go over it with the sebo duo? 3-4 minutes obviously wasnt enough on the last job!

I use Solutions No.2 and No.9 HD and I get great results with both. I am tending to use HD on all synthetic fibres @ 10:1 if they are heavily soiled and No.2 on wool and lightly soiled carpets. To answer your question on how long to agitate, I find on 16m2 about ten minutes ( the more the better) if you have the time. I use a Sebo Duo and even on wool berber it does not cause "Pilling".
