Title: John Guest 1/2" tube problem
Post by: Flash.. on November 06, 2015, 06:21:00 pm
Is there a way to take apart a 1/2" John Guest tube stem from a push fit tap, the collet that you normally push in to free the tubing or stem is covered by  the nut on the fitting?

Bit of a complicated description, any help would be appreciated.

Any chance of a photo. I have had this happen before when fitting a stem to a fitting with a protective collar on and have had to break the protective collar off to get at the release collet.

Most strange it looks like the tap fittings are missing their release collets completely. They usually look like this:

Not sure how you will get these apart  :(
