Hello all, my 2x 110ah lion leisure batteries are ready 4 changing, which ive always rotated daily & charged with a ctek 5amp intel charger, and having noticed that euro car parts have put these up to £95 ish! so ive been looking elsewhere. (i got them a couple of yrs ago from there 4 around £70ish) Anyway i have been looking at banner energy bulls (thicker plates inside?) @ about £110 each as they are supposed 2 be a v good batt. But ive also seen cheap 110 ah's on ebay 4 around £60 and was wondering if the banners are really worth the extra? Any Recommended Leisure Battery Brands Anyone? Thanks m

The ones from halfords are ok... £59 the other week one i bought one.

I've been using numax ? 110 amp not really had a great deal of success, so switched to 100 amp and that seems great so far, bought via local tyre company and paid about £68

Yea i did look at halfords, that would be there smaller one, there 115's are £89, i wonder who makes them though?

I wouldn't really recommend a battery but what I would say is try to buy from a supplier that has a good turnover
in other words the batteries don't sit for too long on the shelf.
Don't buy from caravan dealers as they tend to be overpriced and the batteries can sit for years as caravan users very rarely
need to change a battery and they will be the main customers.
When you get the battery it should be fully charged or at least have a 90% charge, if you need to charge it take it back.
The dearest part of a battery is the lead so if the battery is cheap it will mean it has less lead in it and wont last as long, that wont
mean the battery your buying isn't a cheap model and just overpriced so finding out the weight of the battery is always a good way to check this.

i buy mine from the local caravan spares shop as its 2 mins from where i live.75 ah though so it fits snugly in my pumpbox.about £70.lion batteries.
they normally last around 2 years before i need to replace them.i charge them every night with a halfords smart charger.i only buy one battery at a time and use it constantly until it doesnt hold its charge anymore.

Had to charge my two leisure batteries over weekend.
First time in 1 and half years.
I have a grippa max SPC
twin 110ah numax,
Only reason for the charge is because i am doing a lot bigger jobs now and the van just sits there all day pumping away.

Deep Cycle Info For The YUASA 115ah L35-115 Leisureline
The Leisureline batteries have been designed to maximise the deep cycle capability through innovative plate formulations and design. Typically each Leisureline battery will cycle to 50% charge and back, 120 times. ???????????????????? Im attracted to the yuasa brand of course , BUT 120 cycles? I thought most were stating 250? and real leisure batts 500? wtf? The yuasa's can be picked up from allparts @ £80 all in, but like someone else said above, its best to buy from a seller who moves stock fast, to avoid self sitting. Im still looking. Thanks 4 all replys btw. m

Granville is it banner you use if so how many amp is it and how long you had it and how often do you charge it reason I'm asking is I have just purchased a banner 75 amp I think and I seem to have to charge it after a couple off days where all the other leisure batteries I have had in the past normally last a week before charge

Even if the battery is new and you have a split charger you will still be lucky to get more than 3 days from a 75 amp without charging depending on your workload.
I use a 75 amp for the same reason as Dazmond, it fits in my battery box plus I don't mind putting it on my Halfords smart charger every second night.

A s far as I'm aware a "cycle" means completing depleting the battery, and then charging it up again.
So for me I always charge my battery up every 2 days, which means that my battery isn't ever being depleted more than 75%. This keeps the battery in much better condition.
My yuasa 115 amp battery has had about 600 charges, and is still holding its charge like new, even though it's three years old.

Ive got 2 x yuasa 115amp L batts on order, they will come from manufacturer to local car parts dealer 2moro @ £78 each inc, as they didnt hold stock. I could have got them from another local parts dealer for £72 each, and he told me he had them sitting on the self, but he didnt know how long they have been there for? (a problem). So i thought for the extra £6 , ill trust in the other dealer getting them in direct. Thanks 4 all help lads. m
