Is TDS 004 still ok to work or do I need to change the resin?
Cheers,
Steve

Mine comes out of the RO between 004 and 008 so I do not bother to use resin. Worked this way for years.
-
I hope that's parts ;D per billion lol ;D
-
I work from 000 to 006 , sometimes up to 010 if I'm busy and forgetful
-
Its fine :)

As I said in another post the other day I have spoken to experts in this field and they said it's fine up to 10,even if you have water at 000 ppb it's irrelevent and not needed. The eye cannot detect the difference between 000ppb and 10ppm after the water has dried on the glass so if people want to pay £200 for a sack of nuclear resin go ahead. A £2000 setup will produce exactly the same results as the Ionics new system after RO without resin attached to the setup so if you have a resin can on your static or in the van you have there over 10k + eqivelant system except you might not have all the bullpoop that comes with there's eh. One thing they can seem to do is sell snow to Eskimos, the thing that sells them is the look of them it's the same priciple as buying a car 9 times out of 10 we buy with our eyes

I let mine creep up to 015 today. No worries - just changed the resin when I got home. I try to keep to 010 as a maximum normally.
-
Another thing while I'm on a rant lol is that if you can't clean windows with a WFP a Ionics system will not save you, there is a dexterity to cleaning windows WFP as there is with a squeegee and that's a fact. If I cleaned Windows with a backpack and a newbie cleaned next to me with an ionic 10-15k setup he wouldn't stand a chance as far as speed and results go,it takes time and experience not 10-15k machine any sane person in this industry would be selling you a dream if they disagreed with that.

As a rule I change mine as it gets off 000 as it starts to deplete quickly after starting to rise,I know roughly how long it lasts me now so sometimes if I have a fair bit in the garage I'll change it before it's due but if I've checked it say a week ago and it's 000 but it's due a change I won't panick.
-
I also work with a TDS up to about 10. When it starts to rise, roll the DI bottle up and down the drive for a couple of minutes.. Keeps it down for another week or so :)

Same here. worked for years with similar TDS readings.
Edit.
Without using any resin.

OK thanks everybody. Will keep using it for another while. :)
-
Its fine :)
Says tap man ;D

So guy's you use pure water do you? Best not tell the custys you don't ;D
-
J.D i thought you just waited till it rained then went out scrubbing windows as its always raining in Ireland ;D ;D
-
026 defo leves spots on some glass i no as i dident check once an dident relise my resin needed changing :o it was only visible from the inside in the sun so i let it go to 006 ish then change

That's what I thought. ;D

Hey if a talented/highly skilled operator such as myself can you use tds of 30 plus...im
sure the average bod can use 004ppm ;) ;D

You don't use pure water you use filtered water, even at zero parts per million the water will still contain dissolved
solids.
I prefer to tell my customers I use deionised water it sounds more technical and complicated. ;D

Sorry I thought the whole point was to use a tds meter as it reads the disolved solids in the water via conductivity so when it reads 000 ppm if there are still disolved solids in the water then why bother taking a reading at all and just use tap water? ::)roll

Everything is relative.
If you want to go the extra mile to attain "pure water", get yourself an Ionics parts per billion system.
