Just had a call to protect a new suite that someone had bought from DFS.
As I spoke to them I looked it up on DFS website to get an idea of size and type, spent about 10 minutes duiscusing it with the caller..... This is it below, I quoted £180,
they had another price at £55......guess who they chose? They even told me the other company asked nothing about the suite and just said "protecting a suite is £55"

I am surprised dfs didn't offer them stain protection/insurance Mike.
I,m guessing the company who quoted £55 wasn't them that charge £20 to protect h/s/l , £55 far too much.

DFS did offer, at the same price as me but they offered the warrantee, although I told them that I would do a better job :D .......and they could watch me do it so they knew it was all done

How many times do you get to a job where the customer says the suite has been protected and no where on the suite does it repel water?

Quite a few Derek, I think it's a matter of not applied to not appiled properly to include it being worn off.
Mike what questions did you ask?
I love a good selling challenge and the more knowledge the better salesman I hope to become.

Shaun this was not really about selling protector as they called already wanting it, if anything it was about selling my higher price.
My challenge was to get them to invest as much time as possible with me, the longer I could keep them on the phone the better my chance of getting the job. this is why at first I wanted to go and have a look at it but it hasn't been delivered so I asked them to get the receipt and tell me the name so I could look at the DFS website and see the fabric and size of the suite.
To be honest as soon as they said DFS were the same price and also offered a warrantee I knew I was on a losing battle. Even without the £55 price they had been offered
