Hi all,
I'm not really into the dry cleaning game but a customer of mine has insisted i clean two pairs of velvet curtains for her and before you say don't touch them, she really has insisted ::)
Any tips of what i can do to give them a good clean, i know obviously hwe is outta the equation and i do have some prochem dry cleaning solution, is that worth a go???

Just thought of another question, ::)
is there anything that can be done to the lining of the curtains, there pretty grubby and mottled with what looks like a bit of mildew on them, also yellow/brown in places, is this cleanable or best just left alone?

I've rarely cleaned curtains, but when I did, I thoroughly vacuumed, then sprayed with a fine mist m/s and quickly extracted.
On one occasion, I oversprayed onto a wall and caused a run on the recently painted wall, fortunately the client was so impressed by the cleaning, she excused the error.....others might be less charitable.
Ironically, I have never used the Ninja's built in Dry Solvent facility !

ps
strong possibility of shrinkage if you wet the lining

We do a fair amount of curtains which I hate...Always explain to the customer that backings are sun affected and bleached , thinning the fabric and making them almost impossible to get clean but that any soiling there will be removed as before spray lightly after vac and towel...Simon

Although if this is mistaken for traffic fume filtration damage or black mould - forget it!
