Title: Bear's new name II
Post by: stuart webster on May 10, 2006, 05:34:32 pm
I must point out that my wife has a couple of cleaning jobs which will be part of the business.
We are a partnership, so she has to be seen doing something.
(Hope she does'nt read this out of context)

What's your current companies name and who the heck is 'Tersus'?

What's that all about?

When I started up window cleaning I called myself Stuart Webster Window Cleaning.

About 6 years ago, for tax reasons, my accountant made us into a partnership, S & L Webster Window Cleaners.

About 3 years ago I teamed up with another WCer, I had most of the work, he did most of the ups, I took the largest share.

For doing Commercial work, some of which was mine, some his we had shirts made, that said Nicholson & Webster Window Cleaning. (I let him be first as it sounded better)

I started putting it on my tickets and found cheques made out to Nicholson & Webster, which was a problem as we wern't a partnership or had bank account in that name.

So, I went back to putting Stuart Webster on my tickets.

Now we need a business account as partnership, (wife and I) and she does a bit of cleaning etc.
In order to keep my accounts in order we will disband S & L Webster and set up a new company so that bank accounts match trading accounts, so a new name seems logical.

Tersus is latin for clean, tidy!

I suspect you had a public school education. ;)

Most of us here, and your customers, probably, won't have had the same upbringing as you, therefore I think you should discount 'Tersus' as a company name.

I voted for 'Clean 'n' Clear'.

Can you think of a name with a slogan?

I know this is a joke name, but something more serious - along the same lines - would sound good:

'Condom Window Cleaners - We Only Come Once'.

Can you see what I'm getting at?

A company name with a slogan to match would be good.

My wife is set on Sunshine Cleaning.

I think that's sorted then.  But how about 'Rise and Shine'.  I quite like that one.  It belonged to a Witness window cleaner whose sold up a couple of years ago.

It's similar to Sunshine Cleaning, but quite 'chirpy'.
