I bought a Numax 100 amp hours Battery on the 16 th of June and its just packed in. Sending it back so let see how the guarantee stands up. Only charges up to 7 volt. I am sick of these crap batteries and they are not cheap.

Is it a deep cycle battery ?
The batteries I use are "deep cycle" leisure batteries, supposed to be better than standard cycle leisure batteries ( this could all be bollo from my supplier :o - but he is also a customer ) but since using them I've not had to replace a leisure battery in 3 years

mines been fine, are you using a proper leisure battery charger

Are you sure it's not the battery charger you are using?

How on earth did you let your battery get to the stage that it only runs off 7volts?!?!
If you do that regularly, no wonder its packed in!

That what seems odd to me too as if using a digi pump controller it protects the battery from total discharge by stopping the pump working and shows a "batt" warning message when it gets down to a pre defind level.
I take it you don't use a pump controller with a built in "batt" warning?
How are you taking the battery reading to know that it's only showing 7 volts?

Went to Go Outdoors and they had some really good batteries in stock. Not your recon garbage

Something is wrong here. Battery shouldn't really drop below 10v if it's a 12v battery. To get it below 7v you must be doing something wild.
What are you using to measure voltage?

Sounds like 2-3 of the cells are shot.
Previously I used a Numax 75ah leisure battery.
I went through 3 of them each lasting between 6 and 9 months (charged regularly with a good quality intelligent charger).
In my opinion the Numax batteries are inferior quality.
The last battery I bought was a Halfords 75ah, which is noticeably heavier (hinting that it has a higher lead content).
It has been faultless in the year or so I've had it and continues to be so.

Don`t jump to conclusions I don`t let it get flat at all. and I do use a smart charger always have. It always charged up perfectly and yesterday it was on 11.5 volts so put it on charge for a few hours at 2 amp. When I got to the van to remove it its said fully charged so took a multi meter and tested it was on 7.8 volts >Now please I am no ass hole I did connect it to the right pole as my charger will tell you if its wrong. So connected up a pump to provide some load, which then pulled the volt down to 4.8. Anyway its has a guarantee, it must be a dud as I have had these before with no probs. I also have an volt meter fitted in the van so can see when something is wrong, I have replaced it with 115 amp hour from Halfords which is just down the street were I can go if it plays up. The Numax one is from Yorkshire so it has cost to return it, in time and money. I also have a smart self switching relay in the van. Which always supplies enough previously to keep up with my work. This one needed a charge more often.
The strange thing is it got low without me working much.

My Toyota has twin batteries (big engine) I've been running my pump off the second battery for about three years now, they are original batteries so are nine years old now :o
Maybe time to look for a new pair although they never give me any trouble - amazing really. My whole round is probably within two miles from home too.

I think it will outlive me to be honest.

I agree with Granville, Banner batteries are excellent.
