Title: water production slowed right down
Post by: richywilts on September 11, 2015, 08:56:29 am
my water production has slowed right down im currently using hf4 ro membrane whch is supposed to be used with a booster pump, wasnt using booster pump as it produced enough for our needs without but lost numpty that we used for backwshing and ro flushing so didnt ro flush for ages finally got new numpty off ionics and changed resin and ever since water production has been terrible im in two minds whether to buy new booster pump or a new ro membrane possibly the hf5 which is for use with mains watr not booster pump or just try and new booster pump

what would other people do??

Find out what your water pressure is out your tap, then after pre-filters and before RO if it's not a lot lower than the recommended pressure for your membrane then it's probable your membrane is in need of a change. Regular pre filter changes, membrane flushes and the correct water pressure for your membrane will extend it's life span.

Give June a call at Gaps Water Treatment she'll sort you out  ;)

I had an HF4, June at Gaps suggested an HF5, it's revolutionised my water making.

There to be a thought out there that not using a booster pump will only reduce water production. The truth is your membrane will not last and saving on a pump cost is false economy. Your waste will also increase. A membrane needs the pressure to force the water through it, or it will just pass by the membrane as waste water. The membrane will have superficial blockages and not last long as the fibre deep inside the membrane will never get used. Before it will blocks up and slow down.
