Hi I have a customer with one of these rugs and it managed to get wet some how in rain and now she wants me to clean it as it has a strong damp smell about it,any tips on getting rid of the smell. Many thanks Andy.

contact alltec they have many excellent deodorisers that will cure the problem is the rug still wet
if so make sure you dry it properly before applying deodorisers leave for time that's required and
clean in normal way and dry off asap

contact alltec they have many excellent deodorisers
So do Solutions Cornwall
so do Restormate
So do Prochem
so do most other chem suppliers..
Now.. .......
what equipment do you use to clean your carpets usually? and what chems?

Put an hose pipe on it, rinse it through then use your machine to extract as much wetness as possible then leave it to dry.
It smells because it is damp, just drying it might solve the problem

I was going to suggest he flood it, scrub it, and extract it, then leave it to dry properly too Mike.. ;D

It smells becouse there is bacteria grow etc..
Clean it if needed, then use cleansan to kill bacteria and then prochem odour deodorizer. Also use a bit inside water tank to rinse.
And dry it rapidly with some air mover
