Not just this second obviously but about 30mins ago. Heading to A&E in a little whilst once my wife has returned from work and given me an ear full not doubt.
Silly mistake, completely my own fault. Cleaned above a pitched roof with the pole on a first clean (bloody filthy!) got my ladder out to check 1 pane as it hadn't come up the best. Slipped off a rung on the ladder......oops. Landed with style though, did a parkour sort of roll out but only after crunching my ankle into bits!!!! Continued cleaning the ground floor (on 1 leg), collected payment and she even signed up for a monthly regular clean. she asked if i was feeling ok as i looked a little pale lol.
Dragged myself back to the van and drove home in the only gear i could find.
got to laugh sometimes but my god my ankle hurts and not sure how to proceed with work?
ill keep you posted,
Jon

I wouldn't think you'd have a leg to stand on.
-
That's a bummer sorry to hear that bud....Hope you're not off work too long.
On a positive note you have a new regular customer...well done ;)
-
Yes there's nothing like a nagging wife to dull the pain of a broken ankle ;D, hope it turns out all right for you.
-
Hopefully you've just dislocated it. It will still need a lot of rest though but hopefully not for too long. I had three very good friends who divided my work between them at kept it all going for six months when I broke mine. On a second occasion when I had to have surgery on the same ankle they did it again for about a year. I was very grateful for their help.
-
It'll be just a strain ;D
-
I was off for nearly a month on crutches with torn ankle ligaments a few years ago.ive not played football since! ;D
-
Well what did they say and I don't mean the wife ;D

Hi guys,
Just to add i didn't fall off the roof. Just the ladder, not that it really matters now as they both have had the same result. WFP all work from now on. This is merely a lesson and I'd be an idiot (even bigger idiot anyway) if i didn't learn from it. So here's what's up.....
Currently sat in a hospital bed overnight as they may/may not want to perform surgery on my ankle (did a proper job on it lol). It's broken in 2 places and possible ligament damage to top it off. 1 break isn't so much of an issue and simple to set. The other however is the talus bone which I've been told is the load bearing part of the ankle. The CT Scan is positive as the break isn't that big, which could also be a problem. Due to it being small may mean its not possible repair with surgery or would do more harm then good. The orthopaedic surgeons and experts are meeting tomorrow to discuss the best method of treatment. I'm also being treated like a minor celebrity due to the strange placement of the break which is very strange!
Healing time could be as early as 6 weeks but possibly up to 12 but I'm young and fit so hoping for the latter.
Needless to say it's been an experience and a learning curve. The outcome could have been a lot more serious for sure.

If surgery is needed I'm asking for Adamantium (I know it doesn't exist).
Between me and franky there's a fully functional man......I think

I broke my ankle and leg 15 years ago coming off a ladder. I was off work for 6 weeks, but didnt need surgery. The first few days back were really painful. I probably went back too early but cleaning was the only income I had. Good luck.

Good news,
No surgery required.......yet. Due to the nature of the break they agreed surgery might do more harm then good. The healing progress will be checked regularly and if it doesn't improve then they might slice me open then. I feel like I've dodged a bullet there.
Currently at home with a cuppa, informing customers and arranging cover where I can. Attaching a few pics for you to look at. They even made a 3D rendering for the morning consult and used it for training purposes due to the strange break placement.
Happy to help I guess????????
