Title: Wet mud paw prints on 80/20 mix stain help please
Post by: Aaron stanton on August 25, 2015, 09:26:30 am
Did a quote on a 80/20 mix cream in colour. It had many mud paw prints from the  pet dog where it had ran in wet mud in the garden then through the house, I am just after some advice on how best to remove this and if you guys think it will come out easy enough?

Thanks in advance

A simple extraction should do the trick, cant see it been a problem.

If it's muddy paw prints then once its dry a good vacuum first will sort out most of it. Then your usual safe for wool prespray, a bit of agitation and then rinse it out.

Ok good thanks guys, let's hope it is straight forward then. Got my stain course on September 10th so will hopefully feel more confident tackling stains after that.

Muddy paw prints are not stains, just heavy wet soil. Stains are colour changes caused by a something being spilt or rubbed on the carpet fibres. As Paul says vacuum thoroughly when dry then treat as normal soil.

I wish all jobs were as easy as this one will be.
Don't worry, follow the above advise, and all will be hunky dory  ;D

are you sure they are just mud marks the reason I say this is that dogs obviously don't look
much when there outside it could have picked up allsorts on there paws for instant I was
walking my dog yesterday she started to limp I thought she had a thorn so I felt around her paw
and it was no thorn she had trod in another dogs poop so look carefully on this job in hand for
any colour change in carpet also check if client has already attempted they will have probably
already had a good scrub which will make your job that much harder all the best and good luck
happy cleaning also good advice from other guys that have responded.

Did the job and the marks seem to come straight out following advice on here, I've not had a call back yet so I'm assuming they didn't come back once fully dry. Thanks guys
