Is it The Poseidon Adventure.
No, it's the longest, tallest, widest, most luxurious Ocean Liner in the world, the iconic, Queen Mary 2, my favourite ship to work on by a mile.
Let's hope she doesn't do a Posiedon, at least not when I'm on it😃

Why did you need a scaffold?
-
we did'nt need it but wanted some photos for a new page on the website so put it up , it also gave us so idea on how long it would take to erect and how we would carry it on the trailer.
-
Nice Website Mike, like the translation tool. Do you travel or live in a very multi cultural area. Lovely Westie too.
-
The translation tool is just an add on the designer sticks on, waste of space really

John, what did you use to get rid of that mould?
Nothing quick or magical Radek .
Various solvents , citrus , white spirit , esters and a hot wash with a cfr type tool reduced it to a lighter grey ....
then on with the gas mask and out with the sod met , hot dabbed with a towel and heated with a hairdryer , few square inches at a time . A couple of spots i used a hair salon peroxide mix i use also .
It worked well because the mattress fabric seems particularly resistant to bleach . Another mattress type would probably have shown a white bleached spot ... but i would have done the same anyway .
She was paying the same as id charge for one carpet callout so i spent a bit of time on it .
-
The fabric those tempura style mattresses are made from is great for removing stains.
-
Last time I saw those wellies was on "YMCA" video by Village People... ;)
-
John Martin what did you use on the mould? Looks like memory foam? (I'm looking on my ipad though lol)
Simon has been running that contract for years successfully and as he once said does it for pleasure not for money as it's down the bones but it's a great conversational piece it's the commercial version of jewel in the crown.

Shaun,
'It's down the bones????' ;D
I can assure you I do it for the money, not least because of the huge costs involved in doing it, but it is a great pleasure to do it as well and it is certainly the jewel in the crown.

How long did it take you? Wouldnt that services exceed the value of the mattress?
And never thought you would use white spirit. Just the one for paints from paint shop?
Amazing job btw

A red wine before and after .

Coffee stain before and after. The customer was getting a new carpet so did this while cleaning the suite to test out a new chemical.

There are lots of apps. I use picollage. You can make multiple pics and make them into one image . Good for Facebook pages. I get a lot of text and email enquiries now and win them by sending pics.

Shaun , bleached it !
Radek , many here would use white spirit as a general spotter , its essential in general for me . It was developed as a cleaning solvent before its association with paint stores .Look for the low odour version , B&Q def has it anyway , the standard one is a bit too smelly for liberal use in houses . I put it in a 1liter spray bottle , use it as a general spotter on carpets for little black marks etc , with agitation will also dissolve candle wax spots , chewing gum residue , tar , some makeup and other things u commonly find on carpet . The low odour version i occasionally also be used as prespray / traffic lane booster .
The mattress ... some of those mattresses as up on 1000 euro so she wanted to save it , got damaged in storage . I just charged my min , 70 +vat and spent about an hour . As carpet dawg said some coverings are more suitable for cleaning than others . It worked well in this case , but i turn down some mattresses unless they just want sanitizing . There is a viscose material on some of them that is often stained just from body heat/moisture even if a protector is used , that stuff is hopeless to do anything with .
Heres another good one to to clean , country lodge , the stain was a drink spilled ( they told me ! )
it washed out 70% , the rest ... sod med and hair dryer .

Simon I was only going on remarks you've made based on older posts where you've said that you do it for love and not the money as it wouldn't be worth doing it if it were for money alone, as for the jealousy remark well every forum has a 'village idiot' who pops up to stir things up.

Might not seem it but that's a perfect breakfast, high protein, high fat, low carb
Eat that and you need nothing else until teatime, eat porridge or cornflakes and you are hungry again an hour later

Correct Mike..........
-
Is that gravy on fried eggs?
-
Yep... It's Toby Carveries special 'breakfast gravy'
The even do a breakfast toad in the hole, as part of the buffet, I stick to: 4 fried eggs, a big spoon of scrambled egg, 1 sausage, 6 rashes of bacon , tomatoes, mushrooms. on that day I treated myselve to a spoon of their ham/onions/ potatoes fry-up.
They once threatened to ban us ( me and the leafleters) for having sausage eating contests :D :D
-
And your not taking about the cooked sausage ;D

No need for any assistance if you have upholstery tool like cfr.
Wouldnt pay for such a "crisp" job. :)
Ps. Like doing them, always clean easy and charge more.

This was Tuesdays job an 'empty house' prior to the couple moving in, they got a 20% discount as all rooms would be empty.
Turned up for the mother in law to tell me they were at work and they had put a few little items in over the weekend ..... This was the living room

Mike did you point this out to the customer or you just simply done your job? you could charge extra if moving furnitures took you far longer than expected... ?
-
To be honest I just did the job, they had left a cheque so unless the MIL had stumped up the difference if would have been awkward.
