Worked in torrential rain today and my trusty boots leaked like a sieve http://www.screwfix.com/p/dewalt-titanium-safety-boots-tan-size-9/25461
So, before I drive to my nearest Screwfix - what else can you recommend - I've gone through just about everything now. They all leak in the end.
-
Hey Dave,
Get back to screw fix and buy some Site waterproof boots about £25, you'll get at least 6 months out of them for about a third of the money!
-
or possibly try something like in this

Looks more like a gay fetish site lol ;D ;D ;D
-
The best ones I have used are the hicking type boots they sell at Sports Direct. Reasonable price too ;D
-
wellies work well for me ;D

wellies work well for me ;D
I use waders when pressure washing, best £25 I ever spent 8)
-
I've never had the need to use chest waders myself as drainage issues are normally not that bad.
Mind you I've had one or two booties over the years ;D
-
I swear by these dave

Horses for courses.
Damp to wet weather good quality safety boot. The best thing for leather is a product called neatsfoot oil. Apply with a small paint brush. The leather will take what it needs and any excess you can wipe off.
It will keep the upper supple and makes it highly water resistant.
. If it's persistantly pouring down then wellingtons are the only option with waterproofs.
The more you spend on boots the better you get.

Dont work in the rain, i dont like it, customers dont like it, pub loves it :)
-
On a serious note, german para boots from a military shop and daub em every 2-4 of weeks, should last about 5 years.

My North Face ones have been great, but they've just bitten the dust. I've just ordered some of these 8)
I'm tired of the dull brown, grey, black efforts, like a bit of colour ;D Also, decent make, I'll see if they're up to coping with the beautiful British summer ::)roll
-
Do they have flashing lights as well?
-
Grubs or Muck boots or any decent fishing boot or wellie with a removable thermal liner
My aldi specials still going strong

Not that I've ever used those but surely they must make your feet sweat like hell?

When I don't wear wellies I wear these http://www.magnumboots.com/uk/shield-waterproof-boot-public-order-steel-toe-plate.html as you never know when a customer might go on one ;D

Depends on your budget I was lucky in May I got some Merrell Goretex hiking boots for £75:00 feet have been bone dry despite not really looking after them .
They will be to chuck in the bin by the end of next month as the soles are fairly worn down , I'll have to try and find another well priced pair as they're usually £125
-
I've tried proper hiking boots in the past and found for what they cost they aren't worth the money. Soles vary in grip and wear very fast.
Brashers were lethal in the wet and poor on ladders, soles wore smooth in no time.
-
£30-40 Karrimors feet don't stay dry but they last about the same as £100 boots a few months worn everyday .
-
I would have a look at Engelbert Strauss Dave. ;)
-
I did and burnt my eyes! 8)
Only trouble is you can't try before you buy.

That's the thing, they aren#'t designed for hard surfaces really.
-
bergaus GTX light explorer goretex boots are the best IMO.expensive yes but they keep your feet bone dry and they last around 18 months worn every day before they start leaking in water.very comfortable too from the very first time you wear them.
i never look after them.i just wear them every day for work.thats it.
-
Yes, went through three pairs of them and used to recommend them on here but I got fed up with them leaking in the end. Don't know what happens - either the Goretex breaks down or the soles come away from the uppers I suppose.
-
ive never not had a pair of bergaus boots that havent lasted me at least 18 months dave before they start to leak.at say £100-£120 a pair i think thats not bad going.
i could go through 3 or 4 pairs of the crap karrimor boots in that time and have wet feet on wet days still! ;D
-
ive just bought a new pair of the bergaus boots online from outdoor gear uk. £94-95.not a bad price!(including delivery) :)
