Hello from the window cleaning side.
Access to the engine is by raising the passenger seats on one of my vehicles.
Radiator cap was taken off whilst coolant water still hot and under pressure. Doh!
Result. A geyser of steaming hot, orange, sticky, rusty water blasting into the cab. Van seats were completely drenched and now stink, along with the complete cab interior.
I have washed all the vinyl down with hot soapy water and have used Scotchguard foamy upholstery cleaner on the fabric seats but feel that the internal sponge of the seats will still be dirty with the smelly water and may smell for a long time.
Any suggestions on cleaning and getting rid of smell, particularly with regard to the seats.
Thanks

You need or need someone with an extraction machine.

If it has really gone deep into the foam I'd get a local carpet cleaner to clean it properly with the right products, the foam may even need injecting to completely cure your problem. An alternative might be to find a breakers yard that stock parts for your vehicle and get a couple of replacement seats, yorkshire van breakers might be able to help they ship all over the uk, a google search will find them. I got a replacement drivers seat for my Movano a few years back and it was £60inc vat delivered
