Title: Water heaters

In the US they have the propane little giant water heaters do we have anything like it in this country?

I have considered pressure washer burners however the flow rate may not be enough to trigger the burner. And most other instantaneous water heaters cant take the pressure of a carpet cleaning machine.

Any Ideas?

Ha , i was looking at this yesterday , thought about ' building ' an even smaller portable version of this based on the 12 liter lavor burner ... i presume u could get some sort of flow on/off switch ?

dont know much about them to be honest .
You could make up shower heater connect to a gas cylinder ,  i do kinda fear carrying gas or running burners in the van though .

I'm using a propane burner at the moment, it's a lot cleaner burning that a diesel burner and the temp is very easy to regulate  a bit like a gas hob, you can turn the gas down to an almost flicker, the diesel Burner is on full constantly no adjustment which makes it very hard to control.

But although the Burner  is less bulky than a diesel hot box you have a gas bottle to fit as well. Propane is cleaner so you can fit the heater anywhere in the van but a diesel burner needs either a chimney through the roof or be next to the door..

You can use a portable propane shower like the window cleaners but it can't take the pressure but you can fit it before the pump so the pump pulls the water through the heater  or if you use it with a truckmount you could use it to fill the water box to preheat the water

How do you use it Mike?

I was considering using it to maintain the temperature in a  small buffer tank on a thermostat  and a 12v pump to circulate the water. Then draw the water off in to the  main pump from there.

Pump direct  into the burner then out of the burner through a pressure release valve (which bypasses back into the fresh water tank when I release the wand trigger ) then into the solution line to the wand.

The burner is constantly heating the water, when it's not being used it bypasses back to the tank which preheated the fresh water.

My burner is Rated to 3000psi so can handle the pump pressure
