Hi , I've have been buying my pure water off a window cleaner who is also a friend for years now but I've now decided to make my own now I have garage to do so as I'm spending a lot each month now. As I've just been buying the water I haven't got a clue about ro system and which are best for me? I plan on making 600 litres of pure water a day and want a system best for this and with little waste same as we all want. I've found this site with some systems and just wanted some of your views if any of these are any good for what a want? Cheers http://www.gapswater.co.uk/acatalog/Reverse-osmosis-kits-for-window-cleaning2-1.html

What is your TDS ?
-
40/40 RO with pre-filters and a DI-Vessel .
Then add a commercial booster pump .
This will make 600 litres pure in 2 hours and reduce the amount you waste ..
-
A 4040 RO works at around the 50/50 mark so it doesn't matter if it takes two hours or ten its still going to take 1200lts
to make 600lts.
Then you will still need to make allowances for flushing and running a few litres to waste while starting up the membrane.
Would still recommend the 4040 though as I do think they are the best and handiest to look after.

I love my compact 450gpd.
It's 2 years old and membranes still produce 000 before my DI. ( 080 TDS water in my area)
Gives me about 800 litres in a 24 hour period, and goes into a static system in my garage with auto shut off.
For those wanting to save money on water costs they are better too, you get a higher pure - waste ratio, and just flush the membranes once a week, or before a fill up.
Plus to replace all my membranes and prefilters costs less than £100.
Got mine from Doug Atkinson at
www.daqua.co.uk
Would recommend it very much.

Ring Sam at Vyair
www.vyair.com
He set me up with everything I needed and I'd never done it before.
You will need to know your water pressure.
He guides you through everything and the is a first class after service if you get stuck.

There is not best system. the best one is the one you understand and know how it works. Its a skill and knowing how it works thats make the best system. All the rest is b/s marketing and snob price value.
I run a two membrane 150 gal / 300 gal from Gats water since day one with a booster pump can produce 6oo liters a 12 hour at ease, membranes last me 2 years and go through 25 litre resin a year. This out of 310 tds. Its skill of knowing my system and 60/40 waist I have put waste and product into 5 litre cans and the pure is full and the waste is just over half.

There's a lot of suppliers out there, I wouldn't use vyair ever again

Like you say it's personal choice at the end of the day but if you want to produce water fast then 12 hours is very slow for 600 litres especially if you have a van mounted ro/di system.

Matty why wouldn't you use vyair again ?

I find 12 hours great as I can put it on before bed and its ready in the morning so no loss one over filling and not having to get up at night to switch it off .
