set up worked really well today , well pleased , matty if i hadnt seen your pics i would never of thought of putting it on the roof, as it is i was a bit dubious how it would turn out but hey it was like made to measure for my hight & reeled in & out like a dream. ive had a backpack for 10 yrs & been 90% wfp for nearly 5 with a sacktruck so big jump
thanks again

Nice one matey! No need to thank me, all part of the service :p
I will send you a video of once i have mine perfected.
Basically we have managed to make it auto spool and cut the power all on its own now.
You start the reel up, it spools on perfectly then once the rubber ball hits the first roller the controller thinks its jammed/snagged and kills the power. The only issue is the size of the spool device lmfao. back to the drawing board on that one for sure!
Let me know how that roller goes....BUT it will be the best one for you :)
EDIT
Also i dont know how you feel about this (works well for me) I put my pole on the roof. I have done it like that for years. What you could do is make a little bracket aka HOOK and then reel up hose, close doors, hook hose on and place pole on roof. The idea with mine is to try and make it so i hardly open rear doors ;)

Love the sign writing.

I have learnt a hell of a lot off this site.
Hose reel on inside of roof is an absolute must, I have all the bits to fit a second just a bit further across just never get round to it and am like everyone else u suppose ........ Ya never finished
Good luck mate

nowadays i usually have my son or my fiancee with me so i'll haveto open doors for pole & backpack but if i ever go back to myself it might be ok , i think ive got a few years on this hose reel before i move to your one but it sounds great

I store some of my poles on the roof, I just use bungees to keep in place next to ladders and other bits, only the brodex crap an a big ionics.
I suppose ya could get U shaped brackets to fit pole and have some sort of hinge across top with a hole to padlock.
All the better poles are kept inside the back.
My van is a mess all the time mate, my working hours are crazy but one day and soon hopefully am going to pull the lot out except the tank an sort it out.

personally i think its better to buy a high roof van and store your poles in tubes fixed to the inside.quick and easy.more secure and their not going to freeze up in winter.
