Hello All

I have had a call from a previous customer asking for some advice. I cleaned then re-sanded his Mono-Block driveway about a year ago.

He called saying there has been thousands of ants creating holes all over his drive, lifting the sand out etc.  he said they were 'killer ants'!! Slight exaggeration  I hope😜

Anyway does anyone have any recommendations to get rid of these ants? It's something I see a lot of when I return to re-sand mono-block type drives and would be good to give some advice or recommend a product to the customer.

I've seen Ant powder in Homebase etc, I've never used it though. I find a little petrol down the holes then light it has worked for me.
There's Youtube videos with guys pouring aluminium down the hole and digging it up if you've never seen the size of them.
The petrol in theory shouldn't work as it's the vapor that burns and if there is no air then it would suffocate itself ???

Kevin, you know i couldn't resist this one, just use some sodium hydroxide on the few b******** you want to use it on.

Kev, try CBT for your anger issues, it helped me a lot when I got out !

Kev, try CBT for your anger issues, it helped me a lot when I got out !

A good mix of kerosene or diesel and a soap type product and some garden fertiliser mixed together and left to gel together should deal with most things. Don't get it on anything you don't want to be on fire for a week though :D
