Hi guys,
Quick question, been asked to clean some windows on a new built house, the windows still have the protective stickers on the frames and some residue on the glass (so I'm gonna have to physically get up there myself before wfp washing them).
My question is, apart from a scraper, scrims, applicator and washing up liquid, is there anything else that I will need (or may need)? Is there anything on new Windows that i need to lookout for, or any special chems that I may need to use?
Thank you!

Oilflo 141 is pretty good at getting stickers and its residue off

A small tin of lighter fluid (or a couple of tins) and a fresh blade in your scraper should do the job. Seriously. ;D

Before doing a builders clean it's always best to get the owner of the building to sign a scratch glass waiver to cover your own arse.

Anyone noticed new glass now has a film on them that doesn't clean as well

Clover tar and bitumen remover removes nearly everything on a builders clean.
Spray neat onto the window and frame and wipe with a microfiber.
I wouldn't be without this stuff on builders cleans and iv done 100s of em.

Never tried it myself but now you have mentioned it I might get some to try...Thanks ;)

"Chris have you ever used this on brown or black upvc instead of the usual white?"
Good question as I was wondering that myself

Iv used it on all types of windows including brown and black frames.
When used on coloured frames though I tend to not leave it on too long, so more of a spray on wipe off action.
On white frames you can spray it on, leave for a minute to soak in then wipe away.

Thanks...Nice one ;)

I don't do many builders cleans but they can be a pain. I've found clovers virosol works, but does take time. As this stuff is designed specifically for glue residue it's got to be worth a try.
£15 a tub and 10 litres should last me a few years I reckon.

Nice one...let us know how you get on with it ;)
