Title: Trad cleaners
Post by: Rich Wilts on July 09, 2015, 02:28:46 pm
We had a small conservatory roof clean to do earlier today. Whilst we were there we spotted a couple trad cleaners in the road doing the windows on a couple of other properties. One of them happened to be the windows on the house neighbouring the one we were doing the conservatory roof on.

After they'd finished and gone we spotted their work, I was impressed.

I bet they loved doing those velux windows too...Bless em

What amazes me those velux windows should spin around so why don't the ppl in the house clean them instead?

That's down to personal standards an the lad who employs them needs to sort it out.

As for vision - I don't no why so many people pull it apart, I done a job with it last week that hadn't been cleaned in years............ All people say to me on the job is look at the shine on that glass  ;D

For less than £20 and it lasts a fair while you can not have any complaints.

I was referring to wfp when I wrote that, but I did throw some in the bucket along with some fairy liquid the other day, made a nice smell but I couldn't say if it was any better or anything as there was fairy liquid mixed in.

You could put horse muck in the bucket and do a better job than these urchins.

The thing is they get away with it, one of the biggest employers in my area employs about 20 or more, he doesn't pay well
so has a fair turnover in employees, you can guess what the quality is like.
He not cheap either, but it almost impossible to take a customer from him, he gets the odd one pinched here and there but
year after year his round gets bigger.
This is one strange game to be involved in.

Is that in Basingstoke Matt?

A few years ago now I used to work with a guy in Basingstoke in the summer every now and then trad cleaning, that was the same quality as his work. I used to be embarrassed and tried to clean the frames up etc but he used to say 'na don't worry about it I've been doing it like this for years' He had a massive round!

Overton, just outside Basingstoke. I think they're a couple of scallies that just work in Overton, I should've got some more details, I'm think they had uniform on, so this surprised me even more.

They worked out of a clapped out old silver thing. Can't remember what It was. I was in shock literally when I saw their work. They should be ashamed.
