For those that grab hold and don't let go on bad payers want to ask you:
What happens if you only have a first name for someone and not surname.
Emailed Thomas Higgins and they said as I only have first name this is ok for letter before action but they would need full name if needed to pursue further.
Tried looking on 192.com and zoopla but everyone wants money for info on householders details.
Sure a while back I was on zoopla and you could see sold price of house and names of householders.
Thanks lee

Go to your local council office and see if they are on the electoral role, or ask the postman.

how much does she owe you lee?

ASk the neighbour for the surname or look in there letter box or hang around as the postie arrives and look on there letter or just ask the postie. Its not that much of a problem. |Look in there bin for old post.

Have a look at the land registry documents if they own the house. They're only about £1. You'll see the full names of whoever owns the property.

Thanks for that link David.
I had a quick look, think it's £3 will look at properly tonight.
Slap bash thought about what you said but I don't think the postie will let me check their mail, don't feel comfortable trying to hook mail out the letter box.
Daze £15
I know you don't bother to chase if payment isn't received.
Customer was a walk up and I priced front £15 for front of a 3 bed semi.
They hadn't been done in years 3 bay windows, I said if she went monthly would be £10.
I said I would be back in the road in a couple of days.
She text me to do it and to leave my bank details and she would pay online.
I cleaned windows and half way through her and hubby pull up in family car.
Said hello but she blanked me, hubby stood outside asking alot of questions about the water fed pole.
As quick as I was answering he was talking over me with the next question.
Basically I found him a bit arrogant.
Reading between the lines wife hadn't told hubby she was getting the windows cleaned ::)roll
Text wife my bank details.
3 days later I text her again to see if windows were ok and mainly for her to acknowledge receiving my bank details
(as she hadn't replied).
She replied she was going to pay that day.
Nearer 10 days I text another polite text no answer.
So I'm at the letter reminder stage.
I'm getting very busy now which is good but I want to get into a proper system.
I don't collect
Don't want to spend my evenings chasing forgetful customers.
It seems a bit strong asking new potential custies for their full names before taking them on the books.
But I have had a few messers in a row lately.
I suppose that's the price of success more customers = more percentage of messers.
Been used to my refined round and payment is quick.
Thanks lee

Lee just stand there and make as if you live there done this many times when in the property game.

;D

Its worth putting the number into facebook search.
I have done this with no end of numbers to get names ;)
-
Thanks I'll try that.
Thought Facebook might help but rarely go on there and not that savy to what you can do on there.

I have had this happen to me for the first time recently. Only £8 but it's more the principle of it. If I don't get the money it's been £8 well spent on learning a lesson. I think from now on, for new customers/first time cleans, I shall be asking for payment up front or on day of cleaning the windows. If they are genuine I don't think they would mind?
-
They will pay after the letter
-
Thanks Guys.

Oh dear.
Just got info off land registry and not Lynne and Andrew as told.
So guess their renting ::)roll
Called her no answer, so text and told her knocking Monday.
