Title: Claber Metal Hose Reels - Are they any good?
Post by: Cookie on July 05, 2015, 07:28:52 pm
I'm looking at getting a metal hose reel. Initially to stick 20m of 8mm hose onto for use with my Pure Freedom trolley and maybe to use as part of a van mount sometime in the future. The Claber hose reels seem to be significantly cheaper than most other reels from Pure Freedom, Ionic etc....

The online reviews on Amazon seem to be quite good but I'm guessing these are from gardeners etc... who would not use them day in, day out like window cleaners. Also I'm not sure I can necessarily trust these due to allegations in the news recently that companies are paying people to write bogus reviews.

Do any of you use these reels & would you recommend them?

Yep, good cheap reels. We've been using and abusing them for a couple of years.

If you get them from Gardiners, get the connection pack too, it's well worth it!

Think it would be great for 20 m hose .but I found the one I bought lasted 2months.I think down to regularly pulling out 100 m .and with the winding in buckled the side discs.

Been using one from Gardiners for two years with 100m of hose so for 20m of hose you can't go wrong. There is a cheaper Claber hose reel with hose on a 'gardeners' website which would suit too.

Hozelock's 'Pico' reel is a great size reel for attaching to a trolley.....

Great hoses. Mine fell over in the van and now it's bent lol so be careful. Don't buy them for staff.
