Had this today, painters dropped some when putting the paint away then left it covered with an off cut. I think they tried to clean it up as area around the mark was stained and blurred as well.
it would not shift! >:(
Applied solv all, blotted, worked away with citrus gel and rinsed and it weakened a lot but full colour would not go.
Guessing the type of paint was giving me problems as standard interior emulsion etc had no problems with.
Any ideas? Wrong product applied?

Masonry paint is water based and I would try something like M-power.
Always a good idea to pre-warn the customer that a stain like this might not come out.

Hmmm - I went to the Johnsons website and looked up the data sheet for the paint which said oil based? I could well of got the wrong paint though as there are hundreds of different versions they had. Thanks

This myth about water based paints. Just because they are water based does not mean they can be removed with water based products. They are actually harder to remove than oil based paints because they dry by a chemical reaction with the air.
Exterior paints are very hard wearing obviously. I would use Nitromors Paint Stripper, very carefully. Dab some on agitate and rinse straight off. A dwell time will help but test it well on that offcut.
POG will also probably remove this. Its worth having a selection of Solvents at your disposal as some deal with things others won't.

If the painter has spilt some paint then it should be his problem.
The second we touch it the blame may move to us if we are not careful.
I try and get the painter involved and get him to give us the go ahead to attempt a clean so that no one can pass the buck.
