is it sediment before carbon filter or other way round ????

I do sediment followed by carbon. It's worked OK for years so I imagine it's the right way around :)

cheers guys thought so also would a warm sediment filter effect water pressure as just got a 3 stage ro 350 gallon system off flea bay and pressure looks only 40psi after carbon filter not sure what is it before sediment tho

If second hand I would change as you don't know how long it's been used for.
Sediment cartrages are only just over £1

I could use that pump couldn't I to boost the pressure I know only cheap but surely that psi be up to the job

The sediment filter is there to protect the carbon filter as they wouldn't be long getting blocked by sediment
and yes if your sediment filter is blocked by sediment it will slow down production as it reduces the water pressure to
the RO.
Always change both.

sadly ive just changed pre filters only have about 50psi going in is approx. 280ppm and coming out of ro is coming out at 20ppm is that ok for polishing

Not too bad, could be better I'd think. What type membrane do you use?

its one of those 4 stage jobbies with a 350 gallon a day membrane but just don't have any pressure to fill it fast

I would have some resin after it somewhere to make sure. You might get away with it but if there's a spotting issue, knowing that your TDS isn't the cause will help to figure out what's causing it.

The lower you can get your RO tds the better as the resin will last longer, but you should still get good value from it at those
levels.

As far as I'm aware an increase in pressure should decrease the tds as well as increase production.
