Title: HG cleaning products?
Post by: Dave Willis on June 21, 2015, 07:53:20 am
Bought some HG window cleaning fluid a few months back from B&Q and quite like the stuff. Popped back in yesterday and the shelf was empty.  :(

Anyone seen it about anywhere else?

Iv started to use GG4 for traditional interior work and love the stuff, it doesn't have the same glide as some of the
other products on the market but for leaving a smear free finish when you are limited by the amount of liquid you can put
on the glass its the business.
I had a couple of large interior conservatories to clean last week and they're always a nightmare when its warm but with this stuff
I found it almost impossible to leave a smear. ( I'm not the most skilful traditional cleaner )
How would you rate the HG cleaner compared to GG4 Dave ?

I always used GG4 until I made the mistake of wasting £25 on Liquidator dreadful crap squeegie channels. They are useless anyway made doubly useless by using GG4.
GG4 has very little slip or suds and so the squeegee blade is very prone to skipping on the glass.
The HG stuff has loads of slip which means if you're quick you can back the blade up the glass on turns, dive bomb or fan with confidence. I don't know what others think of it but I really like it and find it suits me.
My unger channels are dog eared and cut to 45degrees so very minimal detailing. I hardly ever do trad outside but when I do it seems good.

;D out of curiosity I thought I'd measure the tds of it neat - the stuff is so thick the meter wouldn't measure it just got error on the display. GG4 measures something like 270x10 on the meter too  :o
