Title: blank canvass
Post by: keyser soze on June 14, 2015, 01:44:47 pm
just bought a vivaro  lwb sport, and i'm going to transfer my wfp system to it in the next week or so . any of you guys have any ideas for a good set up . i'm bolting the upright tank and frame to the middle of the van . so i can have a reel at the side doors as well as the rear. not sure if this is a good idea or not.  any thoughts from you much more experienced windies, thanks in advance andy

What size is the tank and shape? Some of the wyvale tanks are to tall and narrow to free stand ( even with frame ) in the centre of the van

All my set ups have the tank mid van, they work very well because you still get use of side door and use this area for storing gutter vacs - generators or pressure washers.  2 reels are setup at the rear doors on a shelf for easy access.

650 litre upright tank but was toying with a flat tank . but i would have to have a frame made .Using the upright tank in the middle  of the van is a bit of a gamble because I'm not sure how it would effect the balance of the van .

I've found the 600 ltr ibc tanks perfect size and shape they have a great footprint for stability

Hello mate,

I have a 650L tank in my trafic van, tank is in a frame and up against bulkhead and bolted to floor, hose reel is fitted to inside of roof  with pressure washer fitted underneath leaving enough space for extra bits
I have my trad equipment on the left near rear doors with some high pressure hose next to it.

The space between bulkhead and tank ( bottom half )  is where I have my pump so it's out the way and can't be damaged

Am not finished yet mate, and I will be adding another hose reel, pressure washing reel and other bits but.....

We get there in the end

I've got a 650 layflat bolted down and then boxed in with shelves on the side so i can still use the area on/around the tank for storage etc...
Gutter pipes in roof for pole storage, and then 2 hose reels (the bigger ones with wheels) out the back.
I've found these hose reels dont fall over when driving around so they stay in the van now whilst working, but set up with enough hose so they can come out if need be
Floor is protectacoted with a matt covering the floor so the paint doesn't scratch...

I set them level with the rear axle back towards the cab - so the tank does not overhang  the rear wheels

If I had the upright you have then yes I'd only ever set it against the bulkhead
