Clean It Up

I've been going window cleaning part-time for just over 8 weeks now. I have always given the customers the option of 4 weekly or 8 weekly cleans and they have all gone for 8 weekly - to be honest if I were a customer I would also go for 8 weekly cleans since our windows don't really get that dirty after 4 weeks.
It's quite a relief to be able to do maintenance cleans rather than first cleans since it's so much quicker & easier. However doing these 8 weekly maintenance cleans - frames, sills & glass - I can't really see how a 4 weekly maintenance clean would be quicker time-wise? Unless of course the house was right next to a main road or something ...
Would you agree with this?

Most of my work is 8 weekly. I don't believe it makes much difference in time to clean but it takes twice as long to establish a full round. This should be reflected in the price.

Agree with 8 weekly, in normal circumstances there isn't much difference in the time it takes to clean.

Yes takes longer to clean

It probably takes a little longer to clean but not too much; it depends on the house.
It will take longer to build your round up but it's easier to sell 8 weekly to the customer and you should price a little higher.
Also I find that after 8 weeks the custys are happy to see you.

1+ on same time. But you need to give the customer a good deal to have it 4 weekly. So 8 weekly pay more.AS was said it will take you twice as long to build a round.

I find 8 weekly cleans generally take a little longer esp if near large trees.lots of my 4 weekly work can also be pretty dirty after 4 weeks due to lots of work in the leafy suburbs/near farmers fields etc esp this time of year with pollen blowing about and hundreds of birds flying into windows!(and cacking on them!) ;D

Big difference in time if the seagulls have been poopin all over the windows, the longer the stuff is on the window the harder it is to come off.

8 weekly no no I live on the coast its hard enough cleaning them every 4 weeks

It's all fortnightly round our way .

Yes, definitely easier to sell 8 weekly. I am picking up quite a bit of work on one estate from the previous windie who, it seems, refused to do 8 weekly.

Of course they take longer! All my 4 weekly stay pretty clean for next visit where my 8 weekly get that sheen of dust and sapp, more spiders in corners/webs etc to the glass and frames meaning more scrubbing and rincing(i should price them more but i dont as a lot goto 8 weekly as they cant afford it 4 weekly i find).
I cant understand guys who do 12 weekly as they end up getting filthy! I have gained many customers in the past fir myself and others who say there window cleaner comes 4 times a year which isnt enough to keep them clean as always look filthy with bird marks, poo stains, dust, sapp, spiders poo, spiders webs etc etc.

I normally aim for 6 weekly. I will do 12 weekly but the higher price reflects any extra time taken plus a bit more as it sometimes disrupts the scheduling if I get behind. I used to only do 12 weekly for jobs over a certain value but when the economy went belly up, I had to roll with the punches a bit more.

^^ I couldn't agree more

This is our experience as well. If their lounge windows face the sea and they want the view then even 2 weekly isn't often enough.
Any windows near a main road are definitely going to take longer to clean, even inland.

It will take longer due to more cobwebs snail trails at certain time of the year etc,I don't do many monthly cleans but the ones I do are easy, the plastic gets dirtier than the glass in most cases. 8 weekly lead and Georgians will be dirtier if left longer more so than general PVC framed windows
