Hi guys, this afternoon after I'd finished a customers windows, I posted a windows cleaned slip through the door and their dog bit my hand. Thankfully he let go after a couple of seconds, but there was a lot of blood and I have a couple of deep bite marks on three fingers.
Just a warning to be careful! I've got to have a few days off work now. Which is obviously far from ideal!

are you gonna go for a tetanus injection?

I learned many years ago to open letterboxes carefully! If it's an inward opening flap, I would push it open with the fingers of my right hand and drop the slip/leaflet whatever through the gap with my left (I'm left-handed), without putting my fingers through the gap. If it was an outward opener I would lift the flap as wide as it would go and again just drop the paper through. If there was a draught excluding brush or similar stopping me just dropping the paper through, I would poke it through with a pen. Over the years I've lost quite a few pens but never any fingers!!

Yes, went straight to the hospital and had a tetanus jab and fingers cleaned and bandaged.
Ian- I've learned my lesson regarding opening letterboxes! A very painful lesson! lol!

Missus carries a wooden spoon to open the letter box and push the leaflet through. She used to use the day to day diary until a dog bit a massive lump right through it. If it had been her hand she would have had no fingers left!

A few days off with a couple of bandaged fingers , I would still be at work even doing a half days ;D

sorry to hear that Ian.
had a custies jack Russell nip my fingers through letterbox.
text custie as p`d me off she apologized and luckily dog let go when I sqealed ;D
had a postie on my round and his workmate lost two fingers dog wouldn`t let go through letter box.
He showed me a gadget postie`s have like a big plastic hair slide, just puts distance between your fingers and letterbox.
I`m sure as the law goes dog takes no blame.
should be a case of dog owner has to put cage over back of letterbox, then again dog owners should pick up dog`s sh!t but a lot don`t.
Speed recover Ian.
