Any one man band in the higher tax band or nearly pushing towards it?
For me year on year I've seen my business grow and grow.
This year I just crept into the higher tax band for the first time , which is both good and bad.
Good that the business continues to grow but not so good in the 40% zone , all be it by a wee bit.
I plan to offset this year though by putting my wife down on the business when we marry in three weeks.

Hi tripster - congrats on your marriage.
Do you mean that after you take off your expenses you are at 42K? If your wife doesn't use up her tax allowances then she should certainly be "working for you" employee or self employed billing you for work as long as it is legit or in partnership with you.

Trust me, you're better off just paying the 40%, much cheaper in the long run too!! ;D
