So I'm hoping to get a bigger van soon so that i can get my first van mount setup. I'm still only WCing part time so building business gradually, how much should i set aside to spend on a system and who do you recommend i get it from? I'm looking for a 1 man setup with probably a 400L tank maximum and DI only no RO needed. Also would need it fitting too. Not interested in heated system, just want something that will do the job properly without having to overspend to get the most expensive setup on the market.
Any recommendations? :)

What van do you have already? If you are looking at a 400 max. (I wouldn't go less, even as a one man) all but the smallest vans will be ok unless they are absolutely hanging.
Build your own system is my recommendation - with help from on here. If I can do it anyone can.

I have a vauxhall astravan which is too small in my opinion for a van mount. I'm thinking of getting a ford transit or possibly even a vivaro at the right price, i need a van with a setup that will still have space for other things, as i do other work part time and 1 day a week need to have my tools in the back aswell.
I would do a DIY but i'm not very good at that sort of thing! Would much prefer to pay somebody to fit it properly for me so i don't have to stress about it all. I have some money saved away so i dont need finance or a loan to pay for it i just want it done properly at a reasonable price really.

An astravan is probably a bit small for comfort; what's your other line of work?
It really is easy and not stressful at all. Look:
You pay someone say £3K to do it. How long will that take to recoup?
You can do it yourself in a lazy week for £1K with a drill, a hacksaw and a bit of angle iron for the tank; add a pump, battery screw down a reel - a bit of rudimentary carpentry no more than a fence installer needs - a bit of plumbing no harder than fitting a hose to a waterbutt and screwing up a few jubilee clips and you're away. Buy an SLX25.
And you've saved £1500. (costing your week of fitting at £500)
Where do you live? Someone say up to 25 miles away can show you their homemade system to give you ideas.

I rang up for a similar 400lr & it was £1200 all in (vat included) ! Think it was £300 labour for fitting tank & proper wire up to main battery also spare battery in can,this also included in the price of £1200 which is very good,peter foghill was about £2k,ionics pure 2o range £3k....hope this helps

Just build ya own mate, if it's only Di it's as easy as anything.
Tank in a frame if ya can
Pump
Controller
Battery or use vans
Di bottle and resin
Hose and reel
Brush
A few bits of garden hose a few dubilee clips
By shopping on eBay u could pick all that up for less than £350,
Any car body repair shop will drill a few holes in van and bolt down with plates.

I recommend Purefreedom or the cleaning warehouse Wolverhampton, grippamax and pure 2o also are worth a look at , but the first two are the two I would go for ..... I wouldn't bother with brodex or ionics as the parts are too dear .... I know what Granville gold is saying but a one off professional installation is a good option as I too am not very good at diy and it's nice to have a one off professional install saving the faff etc

Do you really have the zero system Damo? Is it any good? How do you measure the purity to ppb?

Personally I would go for a bigger van, and system, maybe vivaro/trafic, and a two man 650 litre system.
I would recommend Purefreedom, but heard good things about Grippasystems.
The reason for going for a bigger two man system is , it is better to have it and not need it, rather than buying a small system, and then growing the business, and having to buy bigger.
Plus if you have a two man system, if one part of the system fails, you have a spare to carry on working.
I always try and buy best quality, and in long run saves you lost down time due to system failure ;D

Stuart! Come on lol. It was a joke. HOWEVER we do use PPB as we have a static system. On first cleans I can't even tell a difference. We got the system free and the resin is free as well.
We use a resistance meter To check. Can't remember the exact figure now. Dad handles it.
I saw it at the show and it looks like a work of art. When I had my new van and system done I was tempted just because it looks awesome. But would rather look at my healthier bank balance lol

It was tight, but it went in :)
We use an aluminium frame which helps keep the overall weight down.
We are also releasing a brand new system to the market over the next couple of months, so let me know if anyone is interested in knowing more about this.
