Don't seem to last five minutes these days. What's an alternative?
To connect pole hose to microbore.
-
rectus 26 dave!ive been using them for over a year now.they last ages!(6 months at least)and i never use a protector ball etc.
very heavy duty and much better connectors IMO.if they start to jam i spray them with WD40 so they last a while longer.

Are you talking out of your Bottus Dave?

Gardiners do them? Are the male ends different only mine are new? Only ever used Easysnap since I started but they seem pants these days.

What part of your rectum to they fit into. Looks like they have been pulled through someone`s ass.
-
Defo ditch the ez-snap and get the pro 26 Dave.
Slightly more expensive but well worth it.
-
Just bought some rectal fitting for the hose reels, with an end stop so you can take reels out of van without losing lots of water ;D

Done, another fifty odd quid sent to the Cornish money smugglers.
-
Rectum fittings. Maybe you need a colostomy bag, or a butt plug. Or both.
-
Didn't know gardiners offered a rectum fitting service. What size dildo did you go for dave?
-
Hozelock type all day long. ;D

pole hose in to hose reel, may need a jubilee clip to hold, the pole hose into a straight push fit connector and then pole hose into the other side of the connector

Well, I seem to have wrecked 'um. Even had trouble with brand new ones they don't come with that smooth feel that you would expect from ball bearings. They must be using square ones lubricated with sand these days.

Just checking Dave - when you fit a new female coupling to your hose, do you also fit new male tails to each pole being used with it? Using a worn male tail with a new fitting can often wreck the female coupling very quickly.
-
I did use them but they don't last..
Pro 26 all the way never leak and hardly wear
-
Yep, all new. In the past i've got away with male fittings with no chrome left on them and burred to bits. I had trouble with brand new fittings on the backpack and pole I bought - I sent you the female and it suddenly unjammed itself in the post ???
It's not Gardiners fault of course (you don't make them) but they seem to come with a gritty feel these days.
Anyway, I'll give the 26 a go next week.

Good - it is a mistake that some make, but obviously not in this case.
I notice that you haven't bought any of these fittings this year - when was the last time you fitted a new Female coupling (I presume you have a stock of them)?
-
Yes, I normally add one or two to an order then chuck them in the drawer so I've always got spares.
New ones were fitted on the backpack and the reel about March time I reckon - the one supplied on the backpack jammed again. Couldn't tell you how old they are because they all get mixed in the drawer so it would be impossible to track a batch if indeed any were faulty.
-
I use rectus 21, find they last quite a long time, I also don't bother with protecting them with the ball.
Get mine from circuit hydraulics - you find him on eBay

I love you Alex ... however your EZ snap fittings are very poor. They just dont last at all. Theyre also on ebay to as "rectus type" steer well clear!
I always get rectus 21 now from Parker on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151653257291?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

This usually happens when you drag an unconnected rectus across the floor , them getting burred to bits. I leave mine connected and carry the conection, always have done. I never change Rectus fittings. Mine are years old. Infact i find i change taps more often because the little black handle gradually wears away after scuffing along the pavements.

Hi LWC
It's strange that you have had this experience as most of our clients really like the quality of the EZ-snap fittings.
We have these made specifically for us now (have done for several years) as we had previously found that the Rectus brand were not lasting as they should with the type of use that us window cleaners give them - we were getting too many complaints about them which prompted us to change. Specifically it was the spring O clip at the end of the genuine Rectus brand that was/is prone to being worn/caught in use by many of our clients.
We had a few design changes (getting rid of the O clip) made and these fittings have proved very popular. I personally find that they last me about 30% longer than the Rectus brand I used to use.
These are definitely not the same as the 'Rectus types' sold on eBay. Most of those come out of China (which ours do not) and are very poor, often with non stainless steel bearings etc which rust up almost straight away.

We always keep the pole hose connected to the hose reel, and that makes them last longer as there is less wear.
-
Generally I never disconnect mine. Lately I've taken to spraying gutters with G101 mix from a backpack. Possibly tfr ruins the insides? The problem normally starts when swapping back to my other pole for pure. The end stop becomes stiff and eventually refuses to pop back up when disconnecting later in the day to untwist my pole hose.

How then are you getting burred edges on the male connectors Dave ?
-
In the past I said. Been using them since I was a boy. None of my present male connectors show any wear at all yet the female fails frequently.

ooh err missus ;D

I need to order some tomorrow and I'm going to go down the 26 route also,if you do buy the 21 fittings make sure they actually say Rectus 21 and made in Germany on them. I have bought them from all the top suppliers and in some cases they have sold fakes or dodgy Chinese imports which last no time at all ,even if both are changed at the same time with protecta balls fitted on both ends of the pole they still fail.

I have to agree with this post.
Iv used the ez snap for years but the last 2 lots i have bought are only lasting a few weeks.
