Seeing as we (WFP'ers) spend most of out time staring up at the sun, when it decides to come out, how much are you willing to fork out on a decent pair of shades?

Big hitters doing £500 a day will spend £4.99

What about us normal folk ;D

we earn good money, but i won't spend more then £5.00 per pair as they get battered or lost. If I find a pair I like, I will buy a few.

You can pick em up on ebay/amazon for around £14 - £16 to ya door.
I pay for the slightly more expensive version as you can swap out lenses :)

As I'm a one-eyed gimp with aging eyesight I have prescription specs and go for reaction lenses.

I've said it before but I'll never stop. Never, under any circumstances, buy dodgy cheap sunglasses. Buy them from somewhere trustworthy who might have a clue of their origin rather than from, say, market traders.
If they are cheap knock offs, the chance is that they just have dark glass in them with no UV protection. Because they are dark, your pupils open up and the UV floods in. Result in a few years is cataracts.
I'm not saying you need to go expensive, but you do need to buy them from someone with some credibility.
Mine are prescription, so well over £100, unhappily.

One of the reasons i went for fox fishing glasses. Reflections from water, casting into sun etc. Had great reviews.

My wife got me a pair of Oakley's for my birthday a couple of years ago. God knows how much they cost :o I know they're polarised, and scratched to hell now. Changeable lenses though, so will look at replacing them.

Yeah, looking at some Oakley half jackets but at £160 a pop, i'm wondering if the outlay is worth it but I guess they'll never leave my head at that price! Glasses are something most of us scrimp on, me included up til now.

It was the UV400 that sold me. Supposed to block like 98/99% harmful rays.
You can look at the sun, but i dont lol.
-

I bought a pair of Dirty Dog sunglasses about two years ago, dropped them loads of times and they're still fine. Cost about £50, well worth it.

An optician told me how to check for naff lenses. It was 30 years ago, so cant remember fully. You pick a vertical line and tilt the lenses sideways. If the line distorts they will screw your eyes up. At the time, I used to test all sunglasses. 90% were faulty and harmful. Even prescription ones. I just buy the darkest I can now. I squint for cleaning windows, or close my eyes lmao

Prescription Oakley polarised.
They make the world look High Definition!
