Hi i bought a ionic DI filter cartridge 3 weeks ago but my TDS is still high 014 i also changed the pre filters . I plugged the DI filter straight in to the mains tap to see what it reads does any body know if this is normal by these figures . My TDS at the tap is 109 then after the DI it is 085 just wondering if i have a duff DI filter.
I did phone my supplier but he must be still on his dinner because he never rang me back lol
Tap TDS 109 to 115 then with just the DI plugged in i get 085
After pre filters and RO 015
Then after Di it drops to 014
Cheers Steve

You have used up your DI resin by plugging it into the tap, you need to change your resin.
DI resin wont last long if filtering a tap TDS of 109.

It was only plugged in to the tap for around 2 minutes just to see what readings i was getting . At all other times its been connected
via 2 pre filters then the 4040 RO
Cheers Steve

I get a reading of 2 after 4040 with a tap reading of 129 Di then takes down to 0

Sounds like duff resin..
Didn't someone else have the same problem from them a few weeks back?

based on you figures your ro has 86% efficiency which is low. whats your pressure like? if pressure is too low you might need booster pump. how old is your membrane? if your membrane is old it might be clogged.
how much water are using a week as your ionic di cartridge has less than 6kg of resin which doesnt last long anyway?

Good point what's the reading before its di's it?? Is it 109 or that's the tap.

Stupid Question have you got di connected right way around

Stupid Question have you got di connected right way around
No such thing as a stupid question....only stupid answers ;)

Your Di should bring 15 tds down to 0 but if you run your tap straight through from the tap and if it`s a 10 inch DI this could spoil it quicker due to being small and the water passing through before its had a chance to process the 15 tds water. If you have only run it after the RO then I would say your DI is a duff one.
