Title: 2 man set-up, 2pumps
Post by: johnny bravo on May 17, 2015, 08:50:12 pm
im going to set up for 2,       which   is the most reliable and leak proof  connection to split up the hose to use 2 pumps from the water tank hose,       are the  plastic hozelock any good or is a   brass Y splitter best like the one below

he will only be helping the odd weekend,      shall i attatch up to main leisure battery, so 2 pumps and controllers all set-up to main leisure battery 110 amp or just use a  van battery i have  in the shed for him to connect upto.

Am i right in thinking it will use no power if left hooked up to main leisure battery when its not used. but still hooked up.

get 2nd controller+pump tuesday to set-up

i have a citroen dispatch new shape,  if anyone has any pics of a 2 man set-up that would be great,    or email me for ideas  cheers

I regularly run two poles from one pump with no issues.

We just used the plastic hoselock Y splitter; it's been working for about four years now.   I do jubilee clip everything though.

what about something like this 1 into 4?

top one is spare, middle 2 are to two pumps, bottom is just a gravity feed to fill up backpack, bucket etc

If you want leak proof then I would suggest going for john guest fittings. More expensive but you have the ability to replumb and reuse easily.  You have 2 pumps so the Y connection will be on the negative  pressure side of the pumps so there for less likely to leak.

Simon.

hi john....mine 4 into 1 is fitted to my IBC tank see link below

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HEAVY-DUTY-IBC-ADAPTER-2-S60-60mm-to-4-way-snap-on-Hose-Connector-c-w-4-Taps-/291404674884?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43d9127744

for just normal hoselock type, something like this would do

 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Way-Tap-Connector-Manifold-Snap-on-with-4-x-Hose-Connectors-/291444499987?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item43db722613

i was speaking to a windy today, he has 2 pumps,    he just feeds them both by dropping the 2 feed hoses into his 900 ibc tank.    no tap at all, just fed straight to pump from inside ibc tank,
