hi liam we went to olhos d,agua which is about 5 miles from albufeira on the south coast.its a bit quieter than albufeira.good if your just going with the missus and kids.went all inclusive but will go bed and breakfast next time as theres so many nice restaurants to choose from!fillet steak portugese style is awesome.some of the day trips around lagos, silves and the "end of the world"(sagres)are brilliant.stunning scenery/cliffs and loads of secluded beaches with crystal clear water.me and the girlfriend loved it. :)

i must admit i was getting a bit fed up with window cleaning the last few weeks before the holiday but im fully revitalised now for the upcoming onslaught of work.cleaner planner makes shifting my schedule forward a week effortless.
i mainly lazed around in the sun,a bit of swimming and jacuzzi and only hit the gym once! ;D
stuffed my face with seafood and had a full digital detox(no logging in on ere online!)no phones/laptops etc.fantastic. 8)

Totally agree Olhos d, agua is not a place to go all inclusive, far too many excellent places to eat at very reasonable costs.
Just wondered where you stayed as there aren't many 5 star hotels in the area, hope you haven't started to slum it. ;D

RIU guarana.nice clean hotel and food was great but not 5 star although its advertised as a 5 star with first choice.still a great hotel though.the staff work very hard as usual in these types of hotels.i would even rent an apartment for a week or two in this area such is the choice of restaurants.lovely area, lovely people.very safe.

i wish you all the best with your recovery franky.i know a guy like you.superfit and always running/cycling for charity.your a credit to yourself, family and society in general.hopefully you ll be fighting fit again in a few months mate.
its amazing what you can recover from.i know a guy who had a motorcycle crash when he was in his twenties and he broke nearly every bone in his body.the doctor said he wouldnt have lived if he wasnt super fit.(he was a kickboxer at the time).he had to pack in the joinery business that he was going to take over from his dad though but he s ok and found a less physical job.
all the best franky
