Is it worth getting a 250 litre tank and then throwing it on bank seat of car then pumping water out of a tank into it and off you go? Would you just need a pump hose reel and battery? Also, for storage, is it worth renting a garage? I currently buy water and use barrels and a trolley; bit of a part time job. But if I get more serious storage might be needed.

You cant just throw it on back seats. Its 1/4 ton. It will kill the seats.
No need to rent a unit

There's all the storage you need in a van, its a lot cheaper than renting a unit.

Not to mention if you have a crash then there's a quarter of a ton heading straight into your back. Probably insta-death, very likely serious spinal injuries.. put it in the boot and at least ratchet strap it down to the chassis somehow.

Lol when I saw this thread I nearly fell off the sofa,no wonder we get a bad name
-
are you serious???
-
Slippy, if you are that hell bent on serious injury mate, just jump off a bloody high bridge. It's less hastle all round for you.

At the moment using 25 litre barrels. When I fill them up there's 8 of them on back seat. If I had 200 litres on the back seat that's like two big guys rolling forward, surely the two front seats would stop them causing me any major damage. They would be below the seat level.

is this a wind up? ;D
if your serious about wfp window cleaning mate you need a van and tank securely fitted with rachet straps or a frame through the van floor IMO.

Remove the back seats and fit 4 x25 liter barrels and store 4 more in the boot till you can afford a van and just buy a pump and hoses and battery. A young chap in my area uses this set up. Before he spent cash in case it did not work out for him. Unfortunate it did not work for him, its not easy starting with little capital.
-
Why not go the whole hog and bash out the windscreen and back window and wedge some ladders in there too.
You ain't for real pal!
-
Don`t exceed 10 mph. solved the problem.
-
As long as you wedge it in and it can't slide about, It'll be fine, trust me :P
-
Put an IBC on the roof rack.

Is it a good idea to put the battery and pump on a board with Velcro? Which ones would you buy? Have these in the car switch it on? pull the hose out of car?

Joking aside.
I have run 6 x 25L barrels and a trolley from a Honda estate.
Then I put a 175L in the far back of it sideways on so that it rested over the one third part of the back seat and against the front passenger seat. The reel and battery and pump sat next to the tank.
Then I got a Doblo Van with a 400L
Then when I went two man I added a trailer with a 200L as well.
Now I have a Hyundai iload with a 650L.
The best? Either the Doblo with 400. (1 man) or the iload with 650. (1/2 man)
If I really really really couldn't afford a van I'd buy a 2/H trailer with a 400kg payload and stick a 250L on board and insulate it.

Have you got tattoos, you're half-stoned at work, you're signing-on and you call your customers 'Darlin'?

It must be awkward using a wfp when your wearing a straight jacket.
-
No no forget the back seat ideas slippy, just Velcro the tank to the cars roof this should save time opening the back doors 😄👍
Defiantly a joke RIGHT...

I agree. Get a trailer. All legal and safe

Not funny, Ronnie. My mate did exactly that and he hit a car passing underneath the bridge.
Luckily it was a convertible with a 250l tank on the back seat and he was ok.
-
ok stick to barrels on backseat I guess.

If I get a van, wanted one for missus, and child as well, anyone recommend a van with three seats in front?
