Title: Pay Pal
Post by: Whizz-Bizz on May 04, 2015, 08:54:05 pm
Hi guys, its been a while since Ive logged in to ciu, and it sure has changed. Ive been using pay pal to give my clients more option to pay and now pay pal are demanding identification to release my money, has anyone else had this ? how long did it take to rectify ?

This info may be wel out of date but 10 yrs ago we did huge amount of eBay stuff and PayPal - it was always a hassle to get your money and if you got stuck in a "fraud" where they decided you have to show identity it took weeks for it to be sorted out >:(

Hopefully different now.... :-\

Depending on what they ask for you get an email with a link to follow and its usually a case of scanning in passport / drivers licence / business registration docs. Once they receive these its usually sorted within 24hrs. We had this issue when we had to form a ltd company etc.  It was all sorted over two days so hopefully they are improving.

I hope it takes quicker than 2 weeks, I photo'd the passport and letter and they came back saying the image was not good enough so I scanned it today and included additional I.D, is there an alternative to pay pal, Ill be closing the account as soon as its sorted.

What if I bought a card reader, would you cleaners feel comfortable giving card details over the phone ?

Nope its Direct Debit ,  I think you can with Stripe though  lower fees than PayPal slightly 20p + 2.4% per transaction .
