Title: Any of you use a Pickup?
Post by: Wrekin C S on April 26, 2015, 11:27:30 am
Hi all,

I'm considering a Pickup truck for work I have seen other local window cleaners using them with reel mounted in back, just wondered which is good or do you have any, I have seen both nissan navara and l 200 about, I like the look of new ford ranger and toyota hilux also...

What size tank in the back etc?

Many of us. Run a thread search to detect the L200 & Ranger fans.

Unless you are the Rocky Bilboa type that likes a truck. A van is a far better option safe to keep all your equipment safe, day and night. I understand the truck thing, but its better to buy one for yourday to day use.Plus the guzzle  fuel and and not economical for business.

As for guzzling fuel it depends on choice of truck mine does over 33mpg with 500kg fully loaded .

L200 Trojan 60 plate you could get a 600 - 650 tank in easily in most .

Not so true. Mine does over 35mpg which i know some big vans wont get and alot more on a good run. Its seriously comfy. Heres mine custom tank, around 420 litres. Im dead happy with it, covers work and play all in one.

Very nice set up mate who did your tank and did you find it overly expensive to have done , Replacing my L200  early next year and that tank set up would be just the job .

Were is the pump and battery located , Its one the best set ups i have seen in a truck very very nice .

More pics would help as very interested in having my new truck done if you dont want to post on here you can email me info@mmwindowcleaning.co.uk

I don't have a top on my truck but that looks great ! I asked a major tank supplier about custom plastic tanks but they said there would have to be a minimum run of about a dozen.

There is a guy in Bolton who can make any size or shape tank at a reasonable cost. Shapes them to fit perfectly.

I know of at least three chaps included me who gave up with him. The chap in Bolton is good, the chap below is better. Worked and made the tanks for ionics ;)

It would be really good if some one covered the North East of England or at least within an 1 hours drive .
