Title: Cleaning out fresh water tank
Post by: COLIN BRIGHT on April 25, 2015, 01:43:45 pm
I have a truckmount and the fresh water tank tends to get this gung in it now and then, especially in the summer, I do empty it and jet wash the best I can but because the access is only a small hole at the top it is difficult to properly get to the crud stuck to the inside of the tank, any thoughts?

I get an algi slime in my pressure washer bowser during summer which clogs the filters if I don't keep on top of it.

I put bleach in the tank and this kills it, you could do this but make sure you rinse out the tank when you've done it.

thanks mike, hopefully one of the suppliers will have a solution, I have used the tank busters in the waste tank from restormate, don't know if they are just an odour/bactiria killer

colin - I just was installing a prochem fresh tank in van recently - little flecks of some sort of mould all over it and its a bugger of a job to reach all the corners - you need a soft brush and a long handle - I used bleach as well and works fine - strangely I had a customer who insisted I put some drops of this expensive lavender essence and just steam clean with that - a whole house in posh area of winchester - worked fine as carpets not that bad - that was months ago and even after cleaning it out with bleach I can STILL smell the lavender.
