Going to be setting up a gutter vac system soon for one of my franchisees, but I have a question.
Can you power these by use of the main van battery with the engine running, instead of needing a generator?
Just think of conserving space in the vehicle, thanks.

No way will that work the vac are not 12. volt and you will need a very powerful genie depending on your vac. I would think you would a generator producing at least 2000 watt or a vac using less will be crappy. If you are doing domestic us the customers electric. I have a few 4/5 meter leads I leave at the customer which they leave switched on out out of a small window which I collect later at a time to suit us both, this works well and saves me buying a generator. if you are thinking about a generator take a look at a Evolution power plant which will power wash and can power a generator of the same power unit.

They are powerful enough working from the mains,I have a grippa vac

Are grippa vac powerful enough for 3 & 4th level commercial & domestic work? I'm considering buying one and am wondering wether to go for the lighter modular poles or the clamped poles

Yes it's powerful enough I have 5-6 sections and its powerful enough but the tools they used to supply were rubbish, just metal shaped tubing but I think they have more tools now

Thank you NWH

Apologies we missed this one - our notifications for the forum have now been adjusted! Our lightweight toughened plastic tools are much improved over the previous alloy tools - lighter and easier to use.
