See what you think of this...
I'm canvassing new customers, they're happy with the price, I do the windows, they pay. Second month comes round I do them (or go to do them) and they're asking to switch to two months. Happened with a few recently.
Am I too pricey?
Thanks!

The windows are still clean after one month?
-
If you are four weekly instead of monthly then sometimes you'll turn up twice in one month. If you are late collecting they don't remember when you cleaned, only when they paid.

What do you do to fix this problem Dave?
-
Clean six weekly.
-
That`s what happens when you do a good job. They stay clean.
-
Tell them that it will cost more
-
I always offer new customers the choice of four, or eight weekly rota. Eight weekly add 25% to price.
-
i offer 2 or 4 ,same price for both,not a greedy person

Either your first clean price is too cheap, you havn't outlined to your customer that your price is based on a monthly clean or..(related to the first two) they've been happy with what you've done and its great for now..............

There are people out there who like the idea of having a window cleaner but soon realise they don't like the idea
of having to pay for one.
If they have let you clean when you turned up and then asked you to go two monthly I would keep them on the books
until it suited me, if they ask you not to clean then dump there and then.
The first type are just people who have realised that the windows don't need to be cleaned every 4 weeks the second
type are just messers who want a couple of cleans over the good weather months when it suits them.
We have all been there.

I offer six weeks or nothing at all. I used to offer whatever they liked but once you have a full round it's a disaster! One week you'll be light on work so take more on, another you'll be swamped with too much as the bi monthlies turn up again on Cleaner Planner.
As it is I'm having trouble cramming the gutter cleans etc in.

Its their choice i charge 50% more for 8 weekly only had to 2 custys say that it was a big jump in price one cancelled the other decided to stick with 4 wkly even though they could have saved money long term ::)roll

When I started back in 2005 I made the decision to offer 8 weekly cleans as standard...
It obviously took longer to build the business, but in the long run it's been worth it as I've been able to charge more per clean.
90% of my customers are 8 weekly - I have some 4, 6, 12 and 16 weekly's to... These I just slot in around my 8 weekly customers when I'm in the area. I like it as it keeps my round flexible.

i offer 4 weekly/8weekly mainly with some 6 weekly work in other areas outside of these runs of work.
i usually charge a bit extra for 8 weekly and 6 weekly.some a lot more depending on size of property/location(near a lot of trees for example)
i have lots of 4 weekly work and some are pretty dirty after 4 weeks if we ve had windy weather and lots of bird strikes in spring/summer.some i still pretty clean.
to the OP how much are you charging these new customers?they may well think your too pricey for a 4 weekly frequency.

I live in West Leeds, I'm charging £8 for a standard 3 bed semi. I don't know if that's pricey. I definitely know it's not cheapest.

I think that's a fair price if you do frames and doors , people always mess about that's why other service s have contracts
