hi guys. I have purchased a 6l lpg water heater from ebay.set it all up and i get hot water coming through (very hot even on minimum setting) but after twenty minutes or so it cuts out,is there any way around this as it cuts out then won't reignite till its cooled a little, this is causing me to waste a lot of time on it and wondered if there is anything i can do to stop this or is there another heater which won't cut out.your opinions would be greatly appreciated,i have searched for an hour now to see if this sort of question has been asked but can't seem to find an answer. the heater cost me about £60.below is a link to the heater.
i look forward to any help.
regards
Andy

I for one cannot help you; but having a very similar heater, I have exactly the same problem...its rather dented now, with a great many knuckle shaped dents where, with a lot of choice expletives I've given the blasted thing several good Lampings for cutting out - as you say - every 15 or 20 minutes.
If there is a way around this frustrating problem I will watching avidly for it to appear...
Or a recommendation for a similar product that doesn't have this rage inducing >:( >:( safety feature.

Hahaha yes mate, as you tend to do through out the day when things don't work, I am very much the same.
I did buy a heater from corwoods but have never got round to fitting, i got one without the cut off switch but I no lads who say If you disconnect your pole fitting every 15-20 mins it won't cut out...........
But 3rd hand info isn't always correct.

It's an old model with the cutout on 20 minutes.
I don't use mine anymore.
It's the newer one without the 20 minute cutout.
If you want it, let me know.

This is what you need. No cut off. It's well worth the little extra money.

This heater is really a camping heater made for use outdoors .The twenty minute cut off is a safety feature as this heater is flue less meaning all the poisonous gases which are produced when gas is burnt just go into the room/van where it is used. It cuts out after twenty minutes to prevent a dangerous build up of these gases. You can tamper with the safety device to stop it cutting out but its not a good idea. You can buy heaters without this safety feature or the best thing would be to get a heater installed properly with a flue which terminates outside your van.
There will likely now be posts from people telling you to ignore me as their heater has been fine for years and is not dangerous.

Thsnkyou all for your help and input it looks like I will invest in the corwoods ez heater.

I may well go for one of those too, unless I can figure out how to remove that 20 minute safety cut out.
I've no fears about the fact that it is flueless as the unit is situated right at the back of the van and only ever operates with the back doors both wide open.
So if anyone knows how to disable the 20 minute cutout.....???
