Title: Sand Stabiliser.
Post by: AndyDS on April 16, 2015, 10:38:51 am
Hi,
It looks like Marshalls Keybond Sand Stabiliser is no longer being produced. Has anyone used similar products from Pro-chem or Mastercrete?

I have just cleaned 100m2 of block and the customer said that the last firm that cleaned his driveway used PVA watered down at 5-1, has anyone heard of PVA being used to bind the joint sand? He has asked me to do the same using PVA but I refused.
Now, he said he will do it himself - will it work?

Regards
Andy

I dont think it will work!
I use permaseal from  pics uk, 100m2 you will need 2 cost about 90 quid each. Just pour on with watering can and squidgy.
Used it loads of times sets sand solid.

Thanks Simon. I will give him their number.
I get the impression that cost is the biggest factor.

PVA is water soluble so no it won't work, or will until it rains. I think keybond was SBR rather pva
