I just wanted to discuss these (and Vision !!), the recent thread about Vision and some people saying about living in the past or moving foreward encouraged me to think !! (bad i know :-) ) It does seem to me that many guys here (who are giving opinions at least ) are stuck in the mode of trad for some windows and WFP for the rest, there's no inbetweens or no other possibilities. I was pretty much like that myself.
I'm suprised that no one who has tried Tadgh's Beyond Kleen has commented further on it. I think i may have seen one comment (by Ross) to say it was good, i found it very good too. Has anyone else used it what did you think ? I found it great, much better than any other window solutions i've ever tried. And wierdly it leaves the glass with a ultra smooth feel after you've used it, so the claim that it only needs a subsequent clean once its been cleaned with beyond kleen not only seems right, its works in practice too. You can tell a mile off when you run a micro fibre over a glass that has or hasn't had Beyond Kleen on it. And that got me to thinking about the comment i read by someone here (deegee i think ? sorry if i got that wrong, i'll remove it if it wasn;t you) who said.......if some one started faffing around with sprays and wipes and cloth's i'd sack them. I thought about it because even though i think i'm cool and quick and good at trad, i've a few jobs where i do indeed faff about with sprays and wipes and cloths. I must be one of the few that clean the insides of a conservatory, which is in direct sun (ok, i know most of them are !! :-) ) but crucially, its a smoking conservatory. Its yellow, every time i go. I do it trad of course, spare on the water on the mop and you'll have streaks and smears galore, put the correct amount of water on to clean the glass, and it'll be clean. You'll be needing a mop and bucket afterwards though for the yellow crap that runs everywhere. But you'll have done a great job !!! BUt thats the scenario where i've found a product like Beyind Kleen comes into its own...........the house keepers can clean the rest of it, of course i realise what you do depends upon how you've priced. In short, you'll not see me any time soon cleaning high street store fronts with a little waffle cloth and a spray, but you might see me doing the openers with them !!! :-) Or a scrim, or even better a big waffle cloth, lets leave that for another time as we're on about the fluid tecnology !!! :-)
I mentioned to my mate about Vision, i'll be ordering some after i post this.........he said he'd had a guy on about a similar product. You can add it to your tank etc.... I picked a bottle up from him tonight............... M power, Glass and hard surface cleaner from www.worldofclean.co .uk . I couldn't see it on their website, but i have it here. Came on a trial basis. 1.5 litre bottle, dilution ratio is...1:250/300 and says it can be added to your WFP ............. Anyone else tried or used this stuff ? I'll try it tomorrow but i reckon its nano tech stuff like Beyond Kleen ? It Aint going in my tank at any rate !! (see what i did there ? :-) )
And onto WFP and pure water................ i've found that although WFP is great, its results can somewhat leave something to be desired now and again. I'm well aware some of you will say....its your technique, its down to the operastor etc,,but as Dave W has pointed out so succinctly in his previous posts, its great, but its just aint..."all that" all the time. I've several offices, restaraunts and Hotels that i wash down with WFP and actually clean the windows with a squeegee. That way i can guarantee the results are good.
Also Dave in his post on GG4 had great results with it ? GG4 is the additive for hard water, GG3 would be the aadditive for soft water. Has anyone added GG3 to their tank ?
I'll look foreward to my trial of Vision anyway, as everyone is still living on Ionics claims about how good pure water is at cleaning, but seem to ignore their claim that PPB is better, its like a case of choose what info you want and work with that............
Lets see what Vision brings.............................

Beyond Kleen - no question about it. It's by far the best glass cleaner I've ever used and is in a league all of it's own. It's no good for external glass but for internal glass it can't be beaten. Spray a bit on to a waffle cloth, wipe the glass over and wipe over again with a micro fibre. The good thing about it is that for glass that has been cleaned with it regular, the odd finger print, etc, just wipes off without using any more Beyond Kleen.
The comment about it leaves a very smooth to the touch film on the glass, it does but it doesn't leave smears even if you look at the glass when direct sunlight is shining on it. On mirrors, I'd give it 10 out of 10. It's also a very good hard surface cleaner. For me, another plus is it's very quick to use. It's also the only glass cleaner I've ever used on the inside glass on my van that I'd recommend. I do fair bit of driving at night and again, no glare or smears.
It's not cheap at about £25 (I think) for 5 ltrs and I've gone through about half of it in a year and I use it every week especially for shop doors.
Tadgh O'Shea's degreaser/cleaner. Again pricey but incredibly good stuff. It's uses micelles technology (google it) and for greasy surfaces using a spray bottle - absolutely brilliant. As a traffic film remover, also brilliant but for large surface areas I think it'd work out too expensive. It also works exceptionally well on just general dirt on window frames, etc, but only if left for a few minutes.
I do quite a few cafes, restaurants, hairdressers and the like and for the internal glass which can get messy especially during colder weather because the doors are generally shut, cleaning the glass trad using GG4 and a quick spray of degreaser on the applicator or glass, it does wonders. Also, you've no worries about breathing the spray - it's non toxic and also 100% environmentally friendly, unlike Virosol and especially G101, which as time goes on is becoming more of a concern.

I have never tried any additives but am going to try some thing soon.
Mike - 👈 see that mate never forgot.
I just got the contract on lime st station, and wanted to get an additive before starting but, it ended up being thrown at me on the Wednesday and had to start Thursday of last week, have had really good results with just pure but I really should of picked something up to try.

Matt by all means try an additive if you want to, but if its heavily polluted windows your talking about I cant see it
making mush of a difference.
My advice for these would be to have a spray bottle with a degreaser such as Virosol and spray it on your damp brush,
give the window a good scrub with this before turning on your water.
If you can let it sit for a few minutes then all the better, same with really bad first cleans, I must admit if Tadgh's stuff
does the same job as Virosol without the health risks then it would be worth a try even if it is more expensive.

I use gg4 for trad cleaning. It's very good, leaves a nice shine on the glass but my only gripe with it is that it doesn't "froth" up enough. I often find I soap up a window then by the time I start squeegeeing it, it's turned into a clear liquid, which I then have trouble seeing where I'm squeegeeing and sometimes miss small sections.
Tempted to try beyond clear, can this be added to water for soaping up windows?
As for water additives iv only ever tried vision.
What iv noticed about vision is when I first started using it, it caused a few spotting issues. I was using the full dose (1ml for every 100litres) and there was lots of bubbles. I have continued using vision at a slightly lower dosage and I'm finding that houses on there 3rd or 4th clean with vision are looking exceptionally clean.
Yesterday was a very good example example, the sun was shining, it was hot and I was on an estate that were on there 4th clean with vision.
2 houses I cleaned the internals and wow were the windows looking shiny, not a spot in sight.
Certainly put into context why wfp beats trad hands down, because the only thing visible on the glass once I'd finished were small sqeegy turn lines which were quite noticeable in the sunlight.
I put my early spotting issues with vision down to the fact the bubbles were cleaning deeper then water alone ever could. I think if someone is new to using vision it's probably wise to rinse very thoroughly on all vision first cleans.
By the 3rd clean you can rinse as normal, or even slightly quicker and the results are excellent.

Vision and GG4 aren't Nano Technology. If glass was treated with nano then it would repel moisture as well as dirt and the glass would be hydrophobic.
I tried GG4 simply because I had some anyway and because it contains an ingredient that combats hard water spots. I emailed Titan Labs for a discussion with them and got the go ahead. They wouldn't tell me what it contained but apparently there are no nasties in it.
I don't get a 25% increase in speed (like vision users get ::)roll) only a slightly better rinse. The gleaming glass and shiny frames could be in ones head because I've seen sparkling results with pure water alone.
I'm interested in the Beyond Clean stuff though for inside work on domestic properties. Might give that a go if only to try a famous small waffle cloth.
The Vision users are backing their concentration levels down to such miniscule levels that one has to wonder if it's doing anything at all.

As far as I'm aware, Beyond Kleen isn't for adding to water. It can only really be used as a spray.
GG4 trad - the only answer is to perfect your squeegee technique. For wfp, I add a very small amount to the water the same as Dave and I find it does seem to bring up the frames better than just pure water and the glass does seem to come up shinier.

Chris, good advice from Ross.
If you're losing suds/froth apply some solution directly on to your applicator. I usually use a blob of Ecover washing up liquid neat (or a very strong mixture with water) but the Beyond Kleen spray sounds very interesting.
-
Its only a placebo in my opinion as I have been experimenting with GG4 mixed with pure on my own windows.
Have a large bay at the front, white PVC and about 20 years old which I have cleaned half of with the above and just left the rest.
No difference in the shine as of yet.
What I will say is if you add too much it will leave spotting on the glass, I'm using a trolley with 25lt barrels so am overdosing
the mix slightly.
Will be trying it on a few customers who have problem openers in the next few weeks ( that's the only reason I even bothered
with it in the first place as Im more than happy with pure alone) if it does help with these then I will consider using it or even
trying Vision, but if not then I will be staying as I am.
Don't know if Vision causes spotting if you overdose the mixture but the fact that GG4 does is enough to put me off taking
the risk on using it without a very good result/return.

Sorry if I've read anything wrong here the layout of this forum has gone to pot since ios8.3 >:(
Waffle cloths are fantastic, doing a large house insides generally using the first microfibre cloth that came to hand, did a few windows then as you do changed, picked up a waffle cloth and wow, quicker, great finish and did 20 + windows with it, will get onto tadgh for some more
Beyond Kleen good stuff as well

Darran are you saying that you are using the waffle cloths for detailing or do you mean polishing the glass ?

It's very rare I recommend anything but Beyond Kleen, I highly recommend it.
Tadgh O'Shea also does small white microfibre cloths that are an extremely fine weave - much finer than a standard microfibre. They also go in your pocket easily. Those I recommend as well.
How I use Beyond Kleen is to spray some on a waffle cloth (yes, I use them as well), wipe over the glass and then go over it quickly with the white microfibre. The results on internal glass are stunning and it's also an incredibly quick way to clean the glass and more so if it's a repeat job and your on the second or third, etc, clean.

Does tadgh have a website
Yes its jsk cleaning.ie, but its been under construction with no improvement for a long time, maybe he's given up

Just posted a video I found online showing it in use, personally I think it does look like hard work compared to using a blade and
mop but for some inside jobs it looks the business.

Hi Tadgh, I fancy buying some of your Beyond Kleen stuff! Do I phone the number ending 8545 for more info and ordering? Thanks, Nic.

If you where to follow that video then it would be hard work, most of us would of bladed that off and been gone and done two more whilst that video was running !!! I'm not a fan of the little waffle cloth either. Probably not the best demo video to show to proffesional users, as there is no way we would be scrubbing a door with a pad like that then clothing off. However i don't let that detract me from how usefull beyond kleen is... for big panes you can't whack an applicator and sqeegee, Its smaller panes, intricate jobs and jobs where you can't have overspill that beyond kleen comes into its own. Also, i found the small waffle cloths to fine, not absorbent enough and plastic in feel. The big waffle cloths a complete different ball game. They're the one, feel and act just like a scrim.
On another note, the stuff i mentioned above..M power, (worldofclean.co.uk) i notice they're in Redruth, Cornwall. I reckon everyone in Cornwall either cleans windows, makes the gear or manufactures the chems for it ? !!! :-)

Why on earth don't you get your website up together or get an ebay account - you'd make a killing?
Or chat to the vision boys and find out how to sell on here for free?
I know what I'd do. All of the above and send a free bottle and waffle cloth to Dazmond for life.
-
After watching that video, somehow I don't think Tadgh is a window cleaner.
I think maybe he was promoting magic sponges.
